The beginning of this page will continue with "Miss Gypsy Blue Smith"...a silver frost Goldendoodle from Cocoa and Hershey's doodle litter born Sept. 27, 2006.  This lovely girl now resides with a terrific family in Miami Florida!
As a reminder,  Thank you so much to all the families who keep in touch and send in their terrific photos!  We do want you to know that your photos mean so much to us and we hope others enjoy them as much as we do!

Max,
Your generosity to this family should be bottled and sold as GOLD.  "Blue" has alot of soft curls in her coat, more Poodle and has a "scruffy" appearance and when she was first born, she was jet black!  Over time, her coat just kept getting lighter and lighter. We never know if our black doodles will turn silver unless they stay with us until they are closer to six months of age. Once in awhile their coat will begin to lighten sooner, but not always.  It's always funny to me  how doodle siblings can look so different from one another.  I'm also very glad that you and Laura gave our "Older" doodle pup a chance because many people believe that an older puppy can't "bond" with a new family unless they take the puppy when its very young and I am not sure why many  people believe this myth!  Dogs in general just want to be loved, regardless of their age,  and they love us humans unconditionally.   Thank you for making this family smile again, Max! They are going through a rough time losing their Golden Retriever to cancer and while "Blue" won't replace their Golden, she will definitely provide many days of courage and love!  You rock, my friend!  PS: The next BAHAMA-VENTION, you must take me with you! lol

Good Morning, my friend......
I have a great update for you!!! Connor slept with his puppy on the sofa all night, Laura said "NO
ACCIDENTS".... Ripley played with Blue this morning and loves her. She also taught Blue how to walk down the steps.  Laura is madly in love and Connor is introducing Blue as his dog to everyone. Michael told me that he got to your Mom's around 10AM and I got there  at 1130AM,   Blue is very  happy and she has adjusted very well to her new home. Laura  was already at the store at 745AM buying her more treats and toys.  PS, she likes  dry food and eats it piece at a time and wants to eat out of Ripley's bowl,  Laura said she is to funny!!!!!

Love,

Max,
Thank you very much for the update on Blue. I'm glad Blue is acting like she's always been there. It doesn't take long for our Goldendoodles to adjust to their new home and family. Thanks so much  for bringing Tasha (Also of our Goldendoodle World)  with you to my mom's house when you and Laura came to pick up Blue. Our doodles are use to eating together so that's why she may enjoy eating in Ripley's bowl....although Ripley may not like that idea! Sounds like Laura already has her spoiled by letting her eat right out of her hand! haha; Once I figure out a way to get the video tape turned into a media file I can then put it on my site! I have a video of one of our other past doodles...Callie...she lives now in Miami... too. One day I'll figure out how to get those darned videos on here! Hugs to all!

Dear Dee,
Gypsy Blue  slept on the end of the couch with Connor and me Saturday night and then, last night, laid down with me while I got Connor to sleep.  He loves "my doggy"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  She is so delightful and insists on sitting on my head!  She has quickly become my shadow and loves loves loves me.  My friend's 14 year old daughter couldn't stop laughing at how much she loves me!  Snuggle-icious!  Thanks so much to you and Mike!  She goes to her vet tomorrow at 3pm; Will keep you posted!

:) Laura

Thank you, Laura, for the 2 more new photos! Max said you like to take alot of photos! I can't wait to get some of Blue's first vacation!  I'm jealous because I haven't had a vacation in years and my doodle leaves and goes on one immediately!  Not fair! haha  I'm so glad you two fell instantly in love! How cool is that! Keep us posted how she grows and I look forward in as many photos as you can stand to send!

Silver frost Goldendoodle, "Gypsy Blue Smith" by Goldendoodle World

Callie, a light apricot Goldendoodle from our Goldendoodle World,  now resides in Miami, Florida with her very happy family. This video was actually filmed in 2004 in Kissimmee, Florida while Callie was meeting her new family for the first time. We definitely apologize for the length of time it has taken to find this video and now put it on our site. It has taken me awhile to figure out how to get the video off of my camera and onto a program that would work on this site.  We also apologize for "moments" of seeing "feet" or missing "heads". LOL
Callie was so excited about arriving at my mother's home after a 12 hour car ride from North Carolina,  that all she wanted to do was run and it was really difficult keeping up with her!  Callie is a terrific Goldendoodle and her family is as pleased as punch!  Her professional photo can be viewed on our "available doodles" page next to the "leaves".  She's apricot in color and sitting in an autumn basket! Callie's family fell in love with her at first site and as you can see, Callie loves eating food straight from the hand!
Thank you, Debbie for coming out with your husband and making "Jack" a part of your family. Jack is out of Emma & Darby's litter born in March, 2007  and is the largest male out of the litter. We hope he makes a very nice addition to your family!  We also look forward in watching all the changes Jack's coat will go through. Dear Dee,

I am excited- this morning he went out the doggie door all by himself! He is such a big love-bug.  I put solar lights on the back steps so he could see better at night - he has mastered the steps which is a big relief. We are working on housebreaking...I am taking him to the vet this morning and then registering the two for doggie day camp and Bosco for obedience training.  He absolutely loves chicken treats so training him should not be hard.  We walked again this morning- he gets better every day. He is a sweetheart - how could anyone not love him?  Bosco has learned to go up and down the stairs. I am trying to teach him how to use the doggie door now. He definitely learned where I keep the treats - I caught him trying to open the cabinet door!  We went for a walk this morning and he did very well...He went in his crate with just a little fuss last night.  But he slept thru the night.  He is very loveable and sweet.  My vet was very impressed with Bosco. He said he is a beautiful dog - which I already knew! He is also very healthy. He suggested that I take him to a specialist to have his good eye checked on a regular basis.  He thought it was really exceptional that I could train him to come up and down the steps plus get his started on the doggie door in under 2 days. He is a smart boy.  He is so funny- he barks at me if he gets frustrated with what I am trying to do.
I talked to the folks at the pet camp today- they promised to monitor his activity.  He won't be in the same "class" as Spanky- I asked them to put him in with the medium sized dogs just to make sure he doesn't get bowled over. I also signed him up for basic obedience. The folks at the pet camp were amazed at how calm he is for a 'puppy'.  I have some pictures I need to get uploaded- I will send them as soon as I can.
Thanks for the heads up on the bath. I will have him professionally groomed most of the time.

Dear Kathy,  Thanks for the update and we look forward in seeing photos of Bosco with his new playmates!  Thank you for adopting him.  So many people overlook a "Special needs" dog and it's a shame because they are just as fantastic as those who are not.  As you are witnessing, Bosco is just as delightful and intelligent. His small handicap doesn't slow him down much at all!  I'd love to give Bosco all of the credit, but of course, I work with my pups from the day they are born until the day they walk out my door for good...so, I have to take half of the credit! lol We'd love to have lots of photos...so, we look forward in them.  Yes, I guess it would be a good idea to periodically have his good eye checked because he will be putting much of the strain on the one eye instead of having two good ones. But yes...he's basically very healthy and my doodles don't get frustrated but they will "talk" to you...especially if they think you aren't paying attention to them like they believe they should be.
He likes to bark at a broom as you sweep and likes to chase after the sweeping motion of the broom and will bark at it to get the "broom" to play with him. lol
He's got a terrific personality.

Dear Dee,
Here are some pics of Bosco (and one of Spanky) - they are best buds now.  Bosco had a bath and ear-pluck yesterday.
I would say he is 90% housebroken now- in just one week. He is so smart it is often scary. Last night he managed to open the top latch on his crate!  He is such a sweet boy. A woman stopped me in Petsmart yesterday and tried to buy him from me!! Everyone falls in love with this cutie.  It seems like he has been with me forever (even though I've only had him 1 week).  If all your doodles are like Bosco (who is 9 months old), there are lots of happy families out there because he is just the best!

Thanks so much,

Hi Dee!
I hope you are having a nice summer.  I thought you would like to see some pics of Ozzy, who turned 2 years old on June 26.  He was from Pierre and Sara's litter in June, 05.  He still loves to swim, as you can see!  He is still so friendly and has earned nicknames of "Oz" and  "Doodle-Boy".  He LOVES to play!  When my 4 kids have friends over, he goes crazy trying to play with everyone.  He has "swimming races" against the kids in the pool and he's pretty fast!  He likes to play rough and then he will lay down and let my 7 year old put blankets and hats on him.  He has brought so much fun to our home.  I would never have any other dog than one of your goldendoodles!  Enjoy the pics.  My girls and friends were swimming with Ozzy.  Have a great summer!

Hi, Dee!
It is so great to hear from you -- I can't believe the writer contacted you, but I'm really glad because I tell multiple strangers that stop me on the street per week (and I'm not exaggerating), that you are the best doodle breeder out there.  And there are so many now!  Even people that HAVE a doodle at home remark how incredible Sonny is, and how 'I wish mine looked like that' -- no lie.  I think it's his big smile and the fact that he knows how to "work it" in front of people who inquire about him. I'm the woman who lived in Hoboken at the time of Sonny's "arrival" 4 years ago -- he became a local celeb there, now everyone knows him in my new town of Montclair, NJ.  As a matter of fact, I believe my neighbor said she's on your waiting list for a doodle -- she kept "threatening" to steal Sonny, so I finally told her how to get one of her own.  ;-)   I tried to send you some new photos of him some months ago, but your website is oh, so different now.  I remember speaking with you several times prior to receiving him, and now it looks like your business is so busy, you don't even take calls anymore!
Anyway, this dog and I are so bonded to each other, it's ridiculous.  But I tell everyone he is EXACTLY the dog I wanted my entire life, and though he flew into Newark Airport sight unseen, we are a match made in dog/human heaven.  You did good sending me this male from the litter of 12 -- probably the one nobody else picked since I think I was the only one who couldn't fly out to choose a pup in person.  But I'm sure you've had so many litters since then, it's all a blur for you by now.
Thanks for getting in touch -- I will definitely be grabbing extra copies of this magazine (proud Mom that I am), so if she forgets to send you one, let me know and I'll be happy to do it.  And now that I have your email address, I'll forward you the pix I sent her (I hope I chose good ones).

All the best,
Cheryl Lamoreaux
Dear Cheryl,
Thank you so much for letting me know that Sonny will be in "PARENT PAPER" magazine in the AUGUST issue! The writer called me and did a phone interview and I did email her a few photos but which photos they will use, I have no idea.
The photos of Sonny that you sent were rather small, so they didn't show up on my page as well.  Perhaps when you get the time you can send some larger ones.  We had issues with our phone lines a few months back when we dumped BELL SOUTH and decided to go fully cable!  So, perhaps you tried to call when our phone lines were down or not working correctly.  I try and take as many calls as I possibly can but sometimes it's not always possible.  The next time you call, just leave me a message on my answering machine and I WILL CALL YOU BACK.  Note: August 2007: I just checked the Parent Paper link and the article is out but I wasn't able to view all three pages...just the one! I called the magazine and asked if they would send me a copy of the magazine so that I could view all three pages.  Vera did get some of my interview wrong. Over all, though, the article was written fairly well although the very last page of her article, I completely disagree with.  I did tell her that I felt a responsible breeder should have a strict purchase policy; an application process and to have alot of experience.  I definitely do NOT agree that people should be allowed to rummage through puppies as though they were flea market material or that a breeder should open their home to the general public at large.  It's a far more dangerous world we live in now.  Too many people (not all) have ill intentions and a strict purchase policy keeps out the rift-raft as well as keeps the breeders' puppies alive and well.    For those who want to read what I wrote about the interview  CLICK HERE.
While some of the interview was correctly printed, some was not.  I wanted to set the record straight about what I said and what I didn't say.

Hey Dee,
No I do not have any new cute pictures, but I will take some and send them to you.  Yankee is so adorable and so smart.  He loves me, but he worships Bob.  I think he is about full grown now as his birthday is in August.  He is so funny, and loves his big brother Buddy.  They play really cute together.  He loves all his baby dolls, and of course the sofas, and chairs are all his.  He stopped digging, thank God.  That was a real problem for a while, but a wack in the but with the broom  (very easily) stopped that.  I find that I brush him almost every day because even though he does not shed, he will get matted if I do not groom him.  We took him the  beach recently and he loved it.  I got him a little pool and he sticks his whole head under the water to get a toy.  We had a real problem with the pet food recall with Buddy, he was very sick from the recalled Iaams.  After $378.00, I switched the boys to Merricks, all natural food, both wet and dried mixed.  It's very expensive but they love it and they are so healthy.  Buddy has a very sensitive digestive system, probably a result of all his illnessness incurred from his blight after Hurricaine Katrina, but the Merricks suits him just fine.  How is your family?   Any more puppies?  I'll send some pictures, take care.

Shari

The king family pick up their lovely Goldendoodle boy from our Goldendoodle World.
July, 2007:  Thank you, Melissa and family, for personally coming to pick up your lovely light apricot Goldendoodle boy from Emma's litter.  I wish I could have personally met with you but a very weird thing happened an hour before your family arrived!  We had a can of foam spray sitting on the floor beside my refrigerator which unexplainably exploded and sprayed sticky foam all over my floor!  Luckily none of it sprayed towards the dogs or I would have had to shave EVERYONE down! Here it is several days later and I'm still trying to get this junk off of my floor!  Here's some advice to everyone!  Never sit an aerosol can of anything next to your refrigerator!  I didn't realize the heat coming from under the refrigerator could cause such a can to explode! Fortunately no one was standing nearby and none of our dogs were close enough to be hit by the can or pieces of the can. I hope you enjoy your doodle pup and keep us posted with plenty of photos!  Thanks so much for joining our doodle world!

Dear Dee,

Thought you'd like to see how beautiful Chloe is! She is already 7 months old, and only 30 pounds! (We are hoping she'll get a little bigger, do you think that she will?)  We cannot go anywhere without strangers stopping to tell us how beautiful she is! People even pull over to the side of the road while driving, just to compliment her!

She is extremely smart, lovable, gentle and sweet and most of all...playful! We have never seen a dog play fetch like she can!

Thank you so much for such a wonderful dog.  We love her!

Sincerely,
Michele, Stuart and Rachel Arkin

Dear Michele,
Thank you so much for sending me these two photos of Chloe!  She has turned into a gorgeous doodle! I kept her brother who also has the same beautiful, brilliant blue eyes like Chloe.  Chloe's other sister with the blue eyes resides with Barbara who lives in Salisbury, NC.  We do still have four females left for sale (one with green eyes and the others with brown eyes) in Ellie and Amber's litter......This entire litter is staying much smaller than I had anticipated but that's okay by me.  Goldendoodles begin to slow down in growth at 6 months and they are fully grown at one year...so, whatever size Chloe is now (you didn't mention her weight) I suspect she won't be too much bigger at a year old.  We are glad you are  having so much fun with her!  These dogs are just too terrific!!! STAR DUST (CHLOE'S IDENTICAL BROTHER) just became a daddy....for those interested in one of Chloe's sisters, CLICK HERE.

Dear Dee, This our new baby, Shayna. Thank you so much for such a sweet Schnapso!  Shayna is so sweet...very lovable and rarely barks.  It took her a little while to get use to her new home, but now she runs all over the place and we love her very much! She was spayed today and she had her vet check up. She's perfectly healthy!!! Her spaying went very well.  Again, thanks so much for Shayna.  She's cute and just perfect for us.

Paul Gross

Dear Paul, thanks so much for sending me this photo of Shayna.  You would not believe how many people called us about our Schnapso pups  and passed up the opportunity to own one  because they couldn't respect our strict purchase policy.  Well, their loss...YOUR gain!  We do still have Shayna's sister and brother who are just as adorable and sweet, like Shayna. Feel free to give our phone number out if you have someone interested in a gorgeous hyrid just like Shayna.  CLICK HERE TO VIEW HER SIBLINGS.

Dear Dee,

Hi....its Suri's sister, Penny.   I have her papers and looked at your website and finally realized that one page was all about their litter.  It was pretty neat.  The original family that had her could not keep her and so I have her now but no she still is not good around kids or company, even my husband's parents and our son and our daughter and her family she will just bark and bark everytime they come like they are still strangers.  She does not like kids much at all but even with the little ones, she never hurts them or growls at them but she acts like she is barely putting up with them petting her, like do I really have to do this?  With the older kids she will growl at them but she has never offered to nip at anyone or to wet on the floor when she is scared.  She will sit nice and quiet if I put a leash on her while they are here though.  Did all the puppies in her litter end up being shy of noise and children?  She still jumps if you make any unexpected noise.  She never does seem to get used to it.  She does love other animals though.  We don't have any children home ourselves anymore so she has been just fine with us and we have all gotten very attached to each other.  She's really sweet, just timid.  She weighs 12 pounds and is nearly 2 years old.  We wondered if possibly the first families children were a little rough on her or if she growled at them and the father got after her because she has always been more fond of me and took a while to get used to my hubby and she is still shyer of men than she is of women.    I have a feeling too that it is because of being a smaller breed.  My youngest daughter has chihuahuas and she said that her dogs are timid with children too because they are loud and move quickly.  I think that is probably true since humans look so much bigger to a small dog.  Penny does bark at everyone who comes here but I was reading on the internet about shy dogs and how to stop them from barking when people come and one site was saying to take them out to the front room on a leash when people come and keep them near you, and as soon as I started doing that she sits right out there and doesnt peep a word while they are here, in fact she is too funny because whenever she is on a leash she wont go but a few steps because she thinks she is tied, that cracks us up.  I found that out because everytime I took her outside with us she would try to run off and would not come to my call.  As soon as I started taking her out there on a long leash and just letting it drag while we are out barbequing and stuff she will stay right there.  We do have a little fenced yard that she can play in and run around in unsupervised too though.  She really has bonded with my hubby and me and we are very fond of her too.  She is such a loveable, huggable little thing.  I'm afraid she has spoiled us for most other dogs because I can bathe her and she will be odor free for weeks and although I know she does shed some its certainly not noticeable at all on our clothes or bedding and we love brushing out her pretty hair. She sleeps in the bed with us at night and has to lay so she is against my back all night.  She does seem happier having a little dog companion here but she gets jealous too if we pay attention to another dog so we have just gotten to the point where we think she would be better off on her own rather than sharing attention with another dog.  She does go to my daughter in law fine but she is still very wary of my son for some reason.  Anyway we are really happy with her and even though they have their quirks, I love the size that they came out to be.  We kept hoping that with subjecting her to noises and different people she might get over some of this but it looks like thats not going to happen but shes okay the way she is and even if she barks at everyone, they all think she is a sweetie anyway.  It just makes everyone try all the harder to win her over by spoiling her with Iams bisquits lol.  I wondered too if she might be more fond of women because you were her main caretaker and trainer.  My hubby is disabled though and if he stays in the bedroom sleeping more of the day while I get up and go out of the room, penny will stay in bed with him until he gets up.  She seems to be the perfect dog for sickly people because she will stay and nap with them all hours of the day and doesnt mind.  She does like to play too though.  I think we had her maybe two or three months and didnt even know that she would play.  We bought her all kinds of toys and she started taking one into bed with her when she still slept in a dog bed and then we started hearing her playing with a toy at night so we started leaving a nightlight on at night so we could see what she was doing and sure enough she was playing with the toy.  We finally got her to playing with the toys with us at night and playing fetch even but it took us quite a long time to get her bold enough to play like that during the day.  We just kept making her wait longer and longer at night to play until it was early mornings for some time and then finally now she will play during the day too and rarely plays at night now, she will sleep all night long with us now.  Anyway I just thought you might like to have some pictures for their web page on what they are looking like now a couple of years later.  Maybe it will cause some of the others to send an update too since its getting around their birth date again.  I really enjoyed getting to see her growing up on the website.  She sure did go through a lot of changes of color but you can still see her in there too in all the changes.  She used to be very white and silver with the black coarse hairs but now it seems like she is pulling out a little more apricot again as time goes on.

Penny...a lovely Goldendoodle World doodle before her hair cut.
Dear Marion,  Thank you so much for sending me such a very long email about Penny.  I'm so very glad, first of all, that she is with someone who can finally love her for who she is and allow her to be herself.  It is not that her first family "couldn't" keep her....they should not have purchased her in the first place and we even discouraged them from the beginning NOT to get such a small doodle, when in fact, they had such small children and alot of chaos at their home. I tried to pursuade them to get a larger doodle because it was my fear that Penny would NOT work out for them and as your email as proof,  she didn't work out.  A similar situation occured with Penny/Suri's brother whom we sent to New Jersey to Jim Breuers' sister after she told me she was getting him for her senior mother, when in fact, she got the dog for herself.  I had warned her before sending him that he would be okay with older people but NOT for younger children. Jim Breuer has small children and she had grandkids.  Unfortunately, Jim Breuer's sister has not kept her promise in keeping in touch and sending us photos and we offered to send them a replacement doodle that would be more suitable for children, but we haven't heard anything from her and they don't respond to emails so we've pretty much written them off.

When those seeking a Goldendoodle for a family pet and who have children DON'T listen to us or any breeder for that matter, and they don't go by the breeders' recommendations,  a rehoming issue occurs and it doesn't always turn out pretty for the dog. Fortunately for Penny, you came along and saved her from her misery of being with a family who would not spend the time required for her to fit in with their lifestyle  or make any extra  effort like you did  to win her over.  I still, to this day, have no idea if Penny's brother is doing okay in his home with Breuers' sister and all the family commotion that goes on at her home.  Hopefully he is doing okay.  I'd love to see more photos of Penny if you have them. She is still just as beautiful!  You can see her when she was just a little baby by CLICKING HERE.   I also put two photos up above of her when she was a little girl.  She and her siblings did great while here but we've learned a valuable lesson from Penny.  We no longer allow any family with toddlers to purchase our very small doodles. (The Toy sizes, that is.)  It's a concoction for disaster and I'd rather a doodle live here until eternity before allowing it to  go to a home where they will be neglected, abused,  not properly cared for or in for a life of misery with people who don't really appreciate  the dogs' personality.    I felt from the very beginning Penny was going to be miserable with her original family and I see that I  was right.  Thanks for taking her in and giving her a much better and more appropriate home than her original family did.   I also think because I am the main caretaker for my dogs that they do bond much better with women than men.  But dogs aren't dumb either.  They know whether or not someone really loves them or wants them.  Penny  didn't like the man who came here originally to pick her up and my husband didn't really feel good about him taking her either and we really went against our gut feelings on that one.  We've now  learned to listen to our instincts much more  and not let people talk us into a purchase we don't feel right about.   Because we learned that the offspring from a Toy Poodle and a Golden Retriever mixture  had too much "quirkiness" to their temperament, we've never again bred doodles in this way nor ever intend to create doodles in that manner. The personality differences were like night and day and they didn't really suit well for people who had kids.   Now when we bred Suri (Penny's sister)  to a Toy Poodle who was much closer to her size, we did see a much improved temperament with her  puppies and they didn't have the quirkiness to their personalities.   They also stayed closer in size amongst each other and there was not a large size difference between the individual pus like there was when we bred a Toy Poodle to a Golden Retriever.  Trial and error is the only way a breeder can learn and it's the error part that makes the breeder wiser and better at their job.  Of course, our many years of successful pairings has made us even the more wiser.   We now know to only use a Toy sized Goldendoodle to a Toy sized Poodle if we want really small Goldendoodles that will have an over-all even temperament.  We don't know exactly, with one hundred percent certainty all the reasons why a Toy Poodle isn't a good match for a Golden Retriever in order to create Goldendoodles,  but we know that we saw enough personality issues to never do it again.   However, I will say that both Shorty and Suri (whom we kept) are terrific doodles (for our liking)  and Shorty is just as sweet as can be.  Suri doesn't like strangers and she's very particular about who she likes and who she dislikes but that's just fine with me.  I don't the dogs that I personally own and that are not for sale to be stranger friendly. So both Shorty and Suri work out just fine for me.
