Here Mystee is getting her shave down and being primped and prepared for the day her new doodles come into the world. We are still a few weeks away, but I like to get my girls in early.....give them the royal treatment....primping and pampering and a nice massage and get them eating extra calories for healthier pups. Mystee is a lovely Standard Poodle from our Goldendoodle World.
The last few weeks before being born, unborn puppies are growing quite rapidly and their moms need added nutrients.
Mystee was calmer during her bath, shave down and clipping than Juel was.
We also left Mystee's coat a bit longer and her top-knot on her head so that it would be easier to tell her and Juel apart. Unless these two girls are standing side by side or we scan them ( our girls are micro-chipped for identity purposes) it is hard to tell them apart.
Mystee watches TV while she is being groomed! She has a nice profile and an exceptional pedigree full of Champions. Mystee is the sister to Tory & Juel and although they are sisters as well to Cocoa and Blackie, they are younger because they come from different litter dates. There is quite a bit of history that goes along with our lovely standard Poodles. The ancestors to our Standard Poodles owe much of their lineage to one single dog and that is EATON AFFIRMED; better known as "snapper". This single dog sired 110 AKC champions in his lifetime and a number of others in Canada and elsewhere. No "Snapper" is NOT our dog.....he is the founding father to MANY Poodles across the world from many years past. Snapper was a leading TOP-PRODUCER in the Standard Poodle world. You may also CLICK HERE to read about the WYCLIFFE kennel and how they started with their Standard Poodles. Wycliffe Kennel no longer exists since it died along when its owner and founder passed away many years ago. Although the kennel no longer exists, many Standard Poodles of today owe their terrific lineage to the Wycliffe lines. There are many WYCLIFFE champions within our Standard Poodles' lineage and very heavy influence. WYCLIFFE owner/founder, Jean Lyle, passed away September 24, 1997 but She and her influence in the Standard Poodle world will not be forgotten. There may not be a Standard Poodle in existance today that does not have some WYCLIFFE within their lineage. While we do not participate in dog shows unless they are "fun" shows, all of our Poodles have heavy Champion lineage and exceptional show quality ancestors. Other Champion lines include Bel Tor, Dassin and Eaton lines....hence, EATON AFFIRMED, as mentioned above.
Mystee completely enjoyed getting her bath after being shaved and clipped. She was actually bathed twice...once before her clipping and once after. We like to bathe them again after clipping to remove small hairs that may still be inside of the coat. Blow-drying afterwards ensures all the loose hairs are gone. Since Mystee is a very calm dog, she didn't have to be restrained inside of the tub and she just sat quietly and let us pamper her! In the winter we allow their coat to stay thick so that it helps keep our Poodles warm...but when summer comes, the coat is shave down.
Mystee's little belly is starting to stick out and we made sure to shave down this area well so that the babies would have an easier time nursing. Mystee's all wet...but soon she'll be dry!
Mystee's feeling a bit "lean" since we shaved off alot of her hair.......but she's now going to relax while we give her a massage so that she and her babies feel great!
Here she is acting all "queen" like.....okay....we'll let her!
Mystee is relaxing in the tub while she waits for me to fix her doodle-suite and she is checking out the TV.
She's a very curious girl and likes to know what is going on at all times. Our Poodle girls have just a bit more of a narrow muzzle than our guys do....hmmm...
what part of FRANCE did they pick THAT up from??? Actually, our Poodles have more Scandinavian and German lines than French lines. All of our male Poodles have a much wider and thicker muzzle than the girls.
Mystee had a new litter of doodles that look just like the lovely pups she had the year before.........if you are interested in obtaining one of our lovely Goldendoodle babies....

Mystee had her litter of little goldendoodle babies Tuesday morning..... 2-4-04. Four days before we expected her litter, but all are beautiful and healthy. We had 9 in all...... 3 females and 6 boys. Two of the puppies are white and the rest are apricot. Because Mystee is not that large of a female, we placed three of the larger pups (still small compared to all of our other doodles since 1999) with Niki. This will prevent the pups from losing weight from "over-crowding". It is not uncommon for mother dogs to have more pups than they can handle. This is why breeders use "surrogate" mothers when they have them available.
The first pup to the left is one of Mystees' pups and the last two are also Mystees' pups. You can see how much smaller they are compared to Niki's litter. Just as expected, the coat to this litter of doodles is exactly like what we have had since 1999....their coat will be thick and wavy and not curly like a poodle.
Mystees puppies are simply adorable! Still very little, they are growing like weeds. Soon their eyes will be open and they will be learning how to walk. their coat is beginning to get little waves in it.
2-14-04: Happy Valentines day everyone! Here is a new snapshot of Mystee (to the left) and one of Juel (to the right) with their puppies. Mystee has a new addition....she is surrogating our new five day old, apricot, female Standard Poodle puppy for us. We named her Rosie and she is a new addition to our Standard Poodles.
Having her here with us at this very young age helps us to bond with her and "mold" her personality as she ages. It also allows me to bond with her at a much earlier age like I did with Lola. Mystees' pups eyes are not yet open...but they are peaking and soon they will be able to see the world! Juels' pups have not opened their eyes yet either.

3-7-04: Mystees' puppies are getting much bigger....of course, by comparison....they are still small! They are very playful....biting each others' nose and tail and eating like the food will never come back again!
We are presently going through the deworming process and we have removed them from their mom.
They seem to be well adjusted, happy and come to me eagerly for playtime.
3-7-04: Mystees' doodle pups are very aware of each other and seem to chat up a storm with each other. They come to me when I call them and they are very aware of my voice.
It won't be long now before they are ready to meet their new families.

3-16-04: These budding characters are learning all sorts of antics! Like raising their paws to say hello! These little dickens are too funny and full of rambunctious fun!
3-22-04: Wouldn't it be nice to see a picture WITHOUT a hand and an arm showing??? Sometimes I wonder how these great photographers capture puppies being still and not wriggling about or trying to poke their eyes out on a camera lens! As you can see, our doodles are growing and I decided to take some more pictures after giving them a much needed bath and a dip!
3-22-04: I can't tell you what gender these pups are via photos, but I can tell you they are simply adorable whether wet or dry! More of their ringlets appear when their coat is damp and when I blow-dry them, I always fluff their coat forward on their head.....this gives them the appearance of bangs and is just too cute! To the upper right is "Crimson Rose".... my Standard Poodle baby who is being raised with Mystees' pups. She is now 5 weeks old, going on 30! Because Mystees' pups are so outgoing and because they are older, she has actually thrived faster and has grown in temperament and attitude much quicker, of which I am glad to see. Crimson Rose got a bath too and here she is playing in the tub with the water. We have our pups walk on a mat to help prevent them from slipping and hurting themselves in the tub. Rose is smaller than Mystees' pups...but that is how Poodles are, in general.
3-27-04: More puppies left for their new homes and .everyone was very excited to meet their doodles for the very first time. On April 9th, many more of Mystees' pups will follow. CLICK HERE if you want to see more past doodles! Few photos were available because many pups in this litter were flown to their new homes instead of being personally picked up.
