Goldendoodle World was established in 1996 by Dee and Mike Gerrish. Both are prior military who were stationed in Mannheim, Germany. Goldendoodle World is not a commercial breeder, back yard breeder, puppy mill, broker or buncher. Dee and Mike Gerrish has been a professional hobby breeder since 1996.

Dee and Mike Gerrish are in good standing with their affiliated kennel club, UKCI, and was the first breeder in the United States to register the Goldendoodle dog with an actual kennel club.

Goldendoodle World follows a breeding plan in efforts to preserve the fine traits of the Goldendoodle dog. Dee Gerrish has researched, photographed, documented and written extensively about the Goldendoodle dog since 1999. Many people, including other breeders, use this website for educational purposes.

Dee and Mike Gerrish are one of the original founders for the Goldendoodle dog in the southern region of the United States. They were a private, professional breeder for the purebred Golden Retriever in 1996 and began their Goldendoodle program in 1999.

Goldendoodle World offers Goldendoodles of various sizes, ages, colors and coat types for sale or adoption under a contract that protects the breeder, dog and buyer. Dee and Mike Gerrish has never sold any of their dogs or puppies to a pet shop or pet store for commercial purposes. Goldendoodle World offers worldwide shipping assistance. Our puppies and dogs are raised with plenty of environmental and human contact on a daily basis and are properly maintained and cared for.

Situated in rural North Carolina, litters from Goldendoodle World are carefully planned. A lot of planning, care and consideration comes with each new litter, well ahead of time. Our puppies are raised in a heated and air conditioned, controlled environment. Our canine are only placed in "approved" homes via our canine application. Those seeking a Goldendoodle, regardless of breeder, can expect to typically pay between $600-$1200 or more just for the doodle. Amenities are usually extra. Prices of Goldendoodles will vary per breeder and per area. Our puppies and dogs receive the same loving care regardless of price. Many people see the price of a canine and think breeders are getting rich selling them. Any dog breeder who is breeding responsibly are rarely seeing any of their actual expenses returned after a sale. A breeder's usual rule of thumb is 1 puppy to pay the stud fee (or to pay for the stud); 1 to pay for travel expenses for the vet-check on the dam and sire, 1 puppy to help pay for the food and vet check up on the pups, 1 puppy to help pay for deworming medications and vaccinations and hopefully 1 or 2 pups to help pay for additional expenses such as gloves, paper towels, and other necessary items so the breeder can do his or her job. Most of the time the breeder spends $5 of their own for ever $1 taken in on a puppy sale. Lets not forget about the actual costs involved towards travel expenses and the normal expenses of annual dog food, vet visits or possible emergency procedures that may come up. Fees accepted for the sale of a single puppy or dog doesn't even come close to the amount of time required for cleaning up, socializing,water bills, electric bills and so on that comes along with the job of breeding. It doesn't count the money a good breeder spends to educate him or herself such as buying books and videos or other training aids. Like most breeders, Funds received for any puppy or dog sale goes right back towards the care and upkeep which is why there are no refunds available once a canine has been sold. Goldendoodle World strives to make their buyers happy which is why we do offer a replacement canine should an event occur either within ten days after purchase or within the purchased genetic warranted time frame. Exchanges are only available upon approval and only after careful review.

Goldendoodle World wants their puppies and dogs to fit well into the homes of the families who adopt them, but we know that achieving 100% perfection is impossible for any breeder. Giving up any of our pups or dogs to those who seek them is a momentous decision which is why we want to be as positive as possible that the buyer has given great consideration prior to purchase regarding the type of canine they've selected. We know very well how short the life expectancy is for any puppy or dog who goes to the wrong home, which is why we screen prospective buyers through our application and why so many questions are asked upon our canine application. It is our great hope that every buyer will be a committed canine owner and that they have not decided to purchase on a whim. Goldendoodle World assigns each and every puppy and dog available for sale, to their new family. This process helps reduce spontaneous purchases, incorrect selections and improper judgements on character and personality of each individual puppy or dog. Goldendoodle World does encourage every buyer to enroll their puppy or dog into some sort of obedience training so that every buyer can own the perfect family pet. We have had a variety of breeds of dogs over the years, but the Goldendoodle hybrid is our favorite. It's important to know, however, that Goldendoodles are not everyone's cup of tea. Goldendoodles are very people-oriented and love to be where ever their human friends are. They easily become members of the family. We've been told by some of our previous buyers that our doodles are "Velcro dogs". Other doodle breeders agree that the doodle dog is a terrific canine for families with children. Independent dog owners may not prefer a canine that remains under-foot and may prefer a more independent dog. If you are seeking an independent canine, the Goldendoodle would not fit in. Our policy is clear regarding refunds or financial reimbursements. We do not provide refunds or financial reimbursements for any reason, regardless of issue. Funds received for any pet adoption or canine purchase go directly back into the care, well-being and costs of providing a quality pet to the buyer. Our website fully and completely informs the buyer concerning all conditions of a sale, our purchase policy, doodle facts and other helpful information regarding the Goldendoodles we offer for sale. We are very proud of the puppies and dogs offered for sale and adoption. We make every attempt to clear up any buyer misunderstanding if there is one; resolve disputes, concerns or complaints as quickly, reasonably and as logically as possible. As a breeder, we know it is not always possible to satisfy every buyer one hundred percent. We encourage all buyers to stay in contact; to submit photographs and information regarding their purchased pet and to keep us informed about the canine they have purchased or adopted from us. Code Of Ethics

Many breeders hide behind well worded "Codes of Ethics" which they do not enforce or maintain with their buyers. It is the policy of Goldendoodle World to enforce the policy we ourselves have created; enforce any program we offer; enforce any restrictions or rules, standards or procedures and actions to enforce what in reality is a well working system and structure, by which the owners of Goldendoodle World follow in order to maintain what we consider high and valuable standards and rules. Goldendoodle World is not a commercial breeder and therefore does not require a license to breed, under USDA. Originally, we held a license with USDA until they changed their policy years ago. USDA now only regulates commercial breeders, not private breeders. However, we have continued to maintain the practice of following USDA regulations and have continued to follow their written guidelines of operation and have maintained good standing with the USDA. Goldendoodle World fully supports the work and any improvements made by the USDA to carry out The Federal Animal Welfare Act. Better enforcement of this act can only improve all breeders as a whole, dealers of pets, including private individuals who handle or take care of pets in general whether they are groomers, breeders, dog owners, dog suppliers or dog trainers. All of our Goldendoodles are registered with our affiliated kennel club. Goldendoodle World maintains good standing with local animal control and maintains contact with local animal control at least once in each year. Throughout the year, Goldendoodle World meets with many professional breeders at various events including meeting with them to discuss canine in general, over the Internet. Goldendoodle World maintains direct contact with their veterinarian and every individual canine is maintained and cared for by their veterinarian as deemed medically necessary. Goldendoodle World advertises all around the world including nearly every major city in every state across the United States through various advertising avenues. Both Mike and Dee Gerrish were trained as respite and foster care providers in Mannheim, Germany and won many commendations and awards for their thousands of unpaid, voluntary hours provided to their military community.
