Meet Sadie.....just one of  our lovely and very sweet  Golden Retriever dams.  She  has more curl in her coat than we have ever seen in a purebred Golden Retriever but this  produces gorgeous fluffy doodle pups because of it and we LOVE IT!     Sadie and Sara are sisters and look very much alike with the exception of Sadie having more curls in her coat.   They both have  great Champion lineage with many certified, Champion OFA ancestors.
Sadie was bred to DARBY in 2004...our Standard Poodle sire who is solid white.   She is a petite Golden Retriever who weighs only approx. 45-48  lbs;   Darby is approx. 55 lbs and has a superb Champion lineage just like all of our other poodles with heavy DASSIN, WYCLIFFE AND EATON in his lineage.   We also have alot of BEL TOR in our poodles' pedigree. The lineage on our Poodles can be traced back to the 1930s.
OUR DOODLES ARE FAMILY ORIENTED DOGS AND ARE WONDERFUL FOR CHILDREN OF ALL AGES!

LOADS OF DOODLE GIFTS FOR EVERY AGE!
As with nearly  all of our doodle pups,  each litter  starts out looking like purebred Golden Retrievers with the exception of ripples in the coat.   This is the  only difference between our doodles and our purebred Golden Retriever pups right after birth.  Goldendoodle puppies go through many, many changes in their appearance from the moment they are  born until they turn 1 year of age.  Since 1999,  we've only had a handful of doodles have a curly, Poodle coat and a handful of doodles having more of the flat, Golden Retriever coat.....the majority of our doodles have consistancy in their coat appearance and that is...having a nice thick, shaggy and wavey coat.
When our Goldendoodles get closer to 4 weeks of age,  they begin getting a "V" shape to their facial coat.  It will sprout outwards and sometimes we have to trim the hair to keep the little hairs from irritating the eyes, if the hairs turn towards their eyes.  Coat maintenence at a young age is minimal.  Some of our doodle puppies begin losing their baby "fuzz" from age 6 weeks and some begin losing their baby fuzz at 8 weeks.  We never know which puppy will lose their baby coat/fuzz and sometimes even fluffiness, sooner than others.  While you will see young goldendoodles look differently in photos.........the end result with our personal Goldendoodles is 9 times out of 10, always the same!
The reason young Goldendoodles will appear to look different in their coat is because each go through many, many coat changes as they are growing up and photos may show those changes and they can vary per puppy.  We never wory much about those changes because when our doodles turn 1 year of age....most likely they will like like all of the other doodles we've created over the years.
One of the biggest myths on the internet  is that if a hybrid has a very curly coat,  they will be less shedding and more hypo-allergenic.  That is completely false and a huge misconception where dog coats are concerned.  This misconception is brought about by inexperienced breeders making such claims and posting this erroneous  information.  If an experienced breeder makes such a claim, than they use it as a sales tactic.   All live animals shed, regardless of their breeding or coat.  Yes,  Goldendoodles shed, but they shed differently and yes, Goldendoodles shed in phases and stages....but they shed all the same regardless of how they are bred.  There isn't a single "hypo-allergenic" animal on this planet...although plenty of people without the proper credentials will tell you there is.   If you have allergies, and they are mild,  you will do very well with most Poodle hybrids.  If you have severe allergies,  it is quite possible that you can not own a dog of any kind....breeders can not guarantee their dogs will work out for anyone with allergies.   Allergy sufferers all suffer in various ways and the degree of suffering can vary widely.   If you have allergies,   You should direct your issues with your allergist and try an determine what kind of dog, if any, you could possibly own, if at all.  Because Goldendoodles shed at various phases during the first year,   if you come into contact with a doodle  at one phase and have an allergic reaction...it does not mean that you'll have an allergic reaction at a different phase.   Not all people are allergic to dander or to the coat of a dog.   Some are allergic to the saliva and this is the difficulty of determining where your problems lie when having an allergic reaction around dogs unless you have first consulted your allergist.  Instead of asking to jeapordize a breeder's business (by having a severe allergic reaction) by wanting to visit and handle their puppies to see if you are okay with them...try visiting a pet store or animal shelter and handle some Poodle hybrids.   If you did not have a reaction to a Poodle hybrid, you may be okay with a Goldendoodle.

All of our small  doodles are bottle fed in addition to their mothers' milk  for extra nutrients when very young babies if they are very small or get pushed aside by larger and stronger pups in any given litter.     This is highly recommended by our vet.   Not only does it help the pups to gain and maintain good weight when very young...it also allows our pups to bond with us and to feel just like a very cared for baby from the very beginning.    Many,  many hours and alot of money  is  invested into each and every doodle that is created by us.   The price we charge per puppy does not even cover our expenses or time invested......as with  many good breeders,  we are always in the RED where our expenses  are concerned for both pups and dogs alike.   Our puppies are the most loving, loyal, trusting canine friend anyone could ever own.    Our doodles expect to be treated in the same loving  manner when they leave our home....that is why it is very important to us that our doodles NOT wind up in the wrong hands.  Since 1999,  the majority of our Goldendoodles have luckily found homes from those who know how to properly care for their puppy and given  the same tender love and care they knew before they left us.   It is quite unfortunate when an inexperienced person obtains a puppy who is use to alot of attention and love and when that inexperienced person uses aggression or aggressive training tactics  towards one of our doodles.    Aggressive training does NOT work for the Goldendoodle and is a completely improper method.  Our Goldendoodles are very sensitive, compassionate, loving dogs and we highly recommend an in-home trainer if you are an inexperienced dog person.    Aggressive training tactics only creates a very scared.....neurotic and aggressive animal.   AGGRESSION IS NOT BRED INTO A DOG...AGGRESSION IS CREATED BY ITS ENVIRONMENT AND ITS HUMAN OWNER/S.
Sadie is a very good mommy and she allows her pups to cuddle very close and her pups can do so without the fear of being laid on.  She and Sara are very careful where they step and sleep.
