Questions and Answers:
1. Is this a first generation litter? Yes...it is. The dam is Jayda, a purebred Golden Retriever and the sire is Star Dust, a blue eyed, light apricot Goldendoodle (see photo to the right.) Neither parent are related to each other. First generation means puppies have come from parents qho aren't directly related.
2. How large will these puppies be as an adult? As we always see with Goldendoodles, puppies will vary in size within any given litter. Our average size for Goldendoodles is 45-55 lbs; We do on occasion see smaller or larger doodles in any given litter, regardless of the size of the parents.
3. When will this litter be ready to go? As of June 27, 2009 we only have 1 male left for sale. He will be approx. 55-60 lbs as an adult.
4. If I purchase one of these doodles, what do I get with the puppy? Every Goldendoodle purchased comes with a binder full of information to help you get started as a new puppy owner...nearly 75 pages full of info! All of our pups are vaccinated and dewormed appropriately for their age. Every Goldendoodle litter is registered with our affiliated Kennel Club, Universal Kennel Club International. We were the first breeder to register the Goldendoodle dog with a kennel club in the United States; We are one of the original founders for the Goldendoodle dog in the southern region of the United States. We've been a registered, approved, professional hobby breeder since 1996 and have owned dogs all of our lives. If you desire a crate, we can obtain one for you but there is an additional fee to pay for the crate and to obtain the crate for you. If you desire a longer health warranty or other amenities, visit our "doodle prices" page. The male we have left for sale will be neutered and provided a rabies vaccine/certificate prior to going to a new home, after his purchase.
5. Do you ship? Yes...we ship all over the United States as well as internationally. CLICK HERE for shipment information. International shipping is available but must be discussed with us ahead of purchase. International shipping can be quite expensive. We do charge for not just the actual costs regarding international shipment, but for our time, mileage and gas required to help you with this process.
6. Does this Goldendoodle/Golden Retriever mixture shed? Every doodle, regardless of where it is purchased, sheds. I am sure you've been told by a doodle breeder at one point in time, that a doodle dog is non-shedding or never sheds, but the truth is, every kind of dog sheds regardless of breed and regardless of breeder. Every soft coated canine bred to a Poodle is a low shedding, low dander dog. The smooth coat Goldendoodle will shed more than the curly or shaggy coat but entirely less than the purebred Golden Retriever. There is no supporting evidence to indicate that a curly coat sheds less than a shaggy coat. Make sure to visit "Meet Meeryn" if you'd like to see what a smooth coat looks like of this mixture. There are no curly coat doodles in this particular litter. CLICK HERE to see a shaggy coat doodle of this mixture. There is no supporting evidence that Goldendoodles or any dog in existance is "hypoallergenic". We can tell you, however, that our Goldendoodles have worked out very well for many people who have allergies and I'm one of them.
7. Can we personally pick up our puppy? Absolutely. We encourage everyone to personally come to our home to pick up their doodle. However, we do require payment in full and our applcation prior to our pups and dogs being picked up.
8. Can we visit the puppies? Can we pick out our own puppy in person? We do not permit contact with our dogs until the day you come to get it. We allow our customers to let us know what gender, coat color/type, eye color and particular size they desire in their doodle and if there is a specific doodle that they favor in any litter, we will allow our customer to select the one they desire to purchase via photos or videos on our website. We do not permit anyone to browse through our litters physically, for the sake of viewing. Our policy helps reduce the risk of our puppies and dogs from being possibly exposed to fatal canine communicable disease in case the buyer has handled dogs elsewhere prior to their arrival. Young pups are exceptionally at risk for such issues because their immune system isn't fully developed. If you have a specific preference, please write this on the application. We assign every doodle to their family. All buyers are required to pre-pay in full for any doodle we offer for sale. Our website offers more information, photos and videos than any other doodle site on the net. We are positive that interested buyers can get a general idea of what our dogs look like, behave like and how great they are simply by browsing this website, watching our videos and viewing our tons of photos.
9. How much is the deposit to secure a puppy? We require 50% down, which is non-refundable for any reason. Should anything occur beyond our control or your control, the deposit is applied to a future litter. The deposit is required along with our canine applicaiton. All balances must be paid prior to personal pick up, delivery or shipping. We do not accept store money orders or cashier checks.
10. What sort of temperament will these puppies have? It has been our experience, we are happy to say, that doodles who come from a Goldendoodle/Golden Retriever mixture have set Golden Retriever temperaments and personalities. This is the third time we have created this type of mixture and everyone who has purchased a puppy from us of this mixture has been extremely pleased thus far. Shaggy coat doodles all have the same physical features such as a shaggy coat, full facial beard and plume tail that rides high up over the back and very low, long hanging ears. The smooth coat doodle has the same physical traits similar to a purebred Golden Retriever with the exception that their legs can be longer like that of the purebred Poodle; they have fluff about the neck and ears and their ears can be longer as well. All curly coat doodles are curly from their nose to their tail and look exactly like a purebred Poodle with a long tail. Any one of these puppies in Jayda's litter would make an exceptional family pet for kids of all ages!
