9-26-02 Kerry Smith purchased "Brody"....her lovely goldendoodle born in June of 2002. You can read about our doodles by CLICKING HERE.
Her card of thanks reads:
THANK YOU!!
Dee,
We want to thank you so much for a wonderful dog. Brody is so cute & sweet. We really appreciate all of your hard work for us. Everyone loves her. You have some people interested here in Washington. Hope all is well at Lake Ridge.
Thanks again....Kerry & Dave Smith
Hailey
Hailey was purchased by the Villeneau family and was out of our Thanksgiving 1999 litter. Mrs. Villeneau sent in Hailey's pics & writes:
"Dear Dee,
Just a note to let you know we are enjoying our puppy. She is very active, mostly well behaved and has been very healthy. She definitely is assertive and quite smart! She learns quickly when given the right incentives....COOKIES! My children really love her. Hailey loves to steal sweaty hats and socks but won't tear them up! She just wants you to chase her for them. Hope you enjoy the pics!
Donna, John, Brett, Janine & Hailey
Dear Donna, we fully enjoy getting the pics and your nice letter! Hailey sure has grown since we first sold her to you at just 8 wks of age! She sure is very pretty! We hope to hear from you again and thanks alot for the pics!

TRINITY
Trinity was out of our Thanksgiving litter 1999 and purchased by Cherie @ age four days. On May 2, 2000, Cherie writes:
"Dee,
Hey!!! Trinity is doing just great! She is a wonderful puppy!
I thank every day that she is in my life. She is now about 30 lbs
and is a very well tempered puppy! She is doing great with my son, Tyler. I have to worry more about Tyler than Trinity.
Trinity listens better! ha Dee, I just thought I would write you to let you know how much Trinity means to me and Tyler, and how much we love her! She is my little girl! She is such a great dog! Well Dee, you take care. We will have to meet with you sometime to show you how much she has grown and so you can see her again! I am so glad I got her, she is such a blessing to us! Love, Cherie
Dear Cherie, I knew when you came to our home that you would love Trinity as we did! We are thankful that you were able to purchase her and give her the kind of home she deserves! We pray for you and little Tyler daily that things will continue to work out for the two of you and when you ever get out this way, make sure you stop by to say "HOWDY!". Lots of love to you all! SHOWPAN
Dear Charles,
When I got your email this morning, I just laughed out loud! To hear your story, it just touched my heart and I am so glad that you and SHOWPAN have hit it off so well! When you first emailed me of your loss of your lovely English Springer Spaniel, it touched me deeply. I could feel your sorrow and I just knew this little boy would ease your pain! He will never replace your lovely Merle, but I know this new boy will give you plenty to smile about and steal your heart! It was a pleasure to meet you in person and to personally deliver this little guy to you in florida! We made it rain and all! Finally!ha I love to read your emails of all of SHOWPAN's antics!
He really takes after his mom, Belle, in so many ways! She is quite a character too! We hope to get some pics from you soon so that we can update him on this page! Take care Charles and We enjoy hearing from you!
When we get down to florida again, we would love to stop by and visit our little boy who found a very devoted new dad!

Hailey
On July 31, 2000 Mr. William Holden sent us pics of his lovely
"Sir Bear Vom Holden". Bear was out of our May 8, 2000
litter and he, along with our little female, Gretzken were among our two favorites in this particular litter.
Children of Charlie and Heidi, they are showing promise of being large and taking after daddy, Charlie.
Mr. Holden writes that "Bear" is now 10 weeks old and a nice
12 lbs!
We are very glad to see that "Bear" is doing great!
Bear
Krissie with Maggie
Krissie purchased her lovely "Maggie" from Lake Ridge Kennel and they both live in the beautiful mountainy state... West Virginia. Little Maggie is out of our May 28th, 2000 litter.
Krissie is happy to report that her little "Maggie" is a quick learner....very playful.....lots of fun and is keeping her very busy!
We were delighted to personally deliver little Maggie to Krissie who anxiously awaited the arrival of her little girl!
It was really nice to see them meet for the first time and we can tell that little Maggie has a really loving new mommie!
Keep up the good work Krissie! We can't wait for new pics!
On Aug. 22, 2000.....Charles sent us this really cute pic of his lovely and beautiful "SHOWPAN".
Showpan is out of Belle's first litter and he is his mother's spittin' image! Charles is so proud of showpan that he has sent us several pics of his lovely boy....you can view more of our springer spaniel pics by clicking here!
LRK writes: Charles, we really appreciate the lovely pics you have sent us and progress reports about showpan's antics. he is the spitting image of his mother, Belle, and he is so lovely! Once again, we are glad you are enjoying him and we look forward in seeing you & showpan next year! Happy Holidays Charles & Showpan! We wish you a safe and treasured 2001~
LuLuBelle
"LuLuBelle" was
purchased by Ali
of New York for a very dear friend of hers as a birthday present, in Sept.
2000. She and her boyfriend flew down to personally pick her up and take her to her new owner.
Ali wrote to us to tell us what joy was brought to her good
friend and his wife and how delighted they were to get her. Ali also expressed what a wonderful experience it was for her to get a puppy from us and give it to her dear friend as a gift. She says it was the best thing she ever did and that LuLuBelle and her new owners are in puppy love! LuLuBelle was the only lemon/white female in the litter, but had an exceptional personality....very sweet and loving! We thank Ali for flying all the way to us from New York and for taking LuLuBelle to such a great new home!
This is what Lake Ridge kennel strives for and it brings great joy to us as well!
This adorable boy was in the same litter as LuLuBelle and was purchased by Lori and her family in Maine. She anxiously awaited this pup to turn 8 wks old and could barely contain her excitement when she picked him up at the Portland International Jetport in September of 2000!
The pup arrived safetly and has the run of the house. Lori reports that her new baby was born on HER birthday, June 27th! If that isn't an omen, I don't know what is!
We were delighted to help Lori out in locating this boy! He has a wonderfully loving home and we are excited for them all!
Showpan was a puppy out of Belle's litter in April 2000.
He is living happily in Florida with Charles who is just
delighted over this little boy's daily antics! Charles reports that Showpan has eased his heartache over losing his beloved springer of many years and that he is just what the doctor ordered! Showpan returns his love in many ways!
Dear Krissie, we really appreciate you sending us a new picture of Maggie! She is absolutely beautiful! Happy Holidays to you and we wish you a great year 2001!
Another gorgeous picture of "Bear Von Holden" out of our Rottweiler litter, 2000.
Lake Ridge Rottweilers can grow to become approx. 125-140 lbs. Extra nice coats,
markings and bred for soundness, temperament & perfect watchful companion dogs.
We thank Mr. Holden for sending us a new pic of "Bear"
to show us how much he has grown in such as short amount of time!
Bear is a chip off the ole block and looks very much like his dad, Charlie!
He has turned into quite a stunning looking boy and Mr. Holden tell us that Bear
gets many looks when outside going for walks. He has received numerous compliments on his beautiful Lake Ridge Rottweiler.
JACKSON
Jackson is a Schneagle male that Cathy purchased from Lake Ridge Kennel in June 2001.
Cathy writes to us:
"Dee,
My husband (and I) have fallen head over heels for this puppy.....tuff guy that Kevin is....no animals are allowed on the furniture and he thinks that allowing a dog to lick you in the face is nasty...well, guess what??...as Jackson was licking Kevin in the face, I asked him why he was allowing him to do it...his response was "what amd I suppose to do? He's too young to discipline"...my response was to get him out of his face...and you can see that he is asleep on the couch..... so much for being a tough guy!
CATHY
JACKSON SLEEPING ON COUCH
Dear Dee,
Just a note to let you know that these first 3 days with Max have just been fantastic! He is incredibly smart and adaptive. The ride home was uneventful, as Max was curious but calm. He loves the kids and sticks to me like glue. Max is delightfully smart ! He has already found his favorite spot for naps.
Housebreaking is going very well! Max is clearly going to be reliable in this area way ahead of schedule. On just his second morning in the house, he immediatel went to the back door after eating. Basically, we have given him a few "good boy" and pats on the head when he relieves himself outside. He is making the connection.
Training on the leash is going to be minimal as well. Grandad really enjoys Max and his antics! No shoe shall remain in the floor. It is Max's job to be sure that all abandoned shoes are placed elsewhere and it is up to the owners to ind them later! We can't tell you how having Max has meant to Granddad, Duane. Max is the highlight of his day! This is a heaven sent puppy and he will be spending alot of time with Granddad out on the patio or relaxing in the easy chair listening to a very extensive collection of Classic Jazz. (Granddad is a former Jazz musician).
Dear Karen, Thank you for much for the pictures.....Max, your children and granddad, Duane look extremely happy! We are very pleased to have placed Max with you and your family and so very happy he has such a wonderful home to live in. You are the exact kind of family we were hoping to locate for Max because he deserved to live a happy life to love and take care of.
I knew he was super smart and would blossom the moment he was able to show just how much love he had to offer. Clearly his past owners did not appreciate his inner beauty as well as his exterior beauty and all that he had to offer and perhaps in a way, it was a blessing they gave him to us because this enabled us to find the RIGHT family for him. God bless and keep in touch!
Dee
Dear Dee,
We can't tell you how delighted we are to have Peepers (now named Baby) in our lives. He loves being fussed over, going to the groomers and eating ice cream with me & Billy. He is such a lover that he is always in my lap as well as snuggles with me in bed at night. He and Billy, my other chinese crested have become great friends. I am so grateful that we were able to get Peepers from you and can't thank you enough for him. He has become our second child and we love him so much! Once again, thank you and I will keep in touch. Debbie
Dear Debbie, I can't believe you drove all the way up from Florida to buy Peepers...but am so glad that you did! We try really hard to find just the right person for our puppies and dogs and it makes me happy when we find the perfect match! I am glad that he has worked out for you guys and he sure looks happy in every picture that you send! I thank you alot for keeping in touch.....we have become great pen-pals and I hope you are feeling better soon! Give Billy a hug for us! He is a real cutie!
Dee
Dear Dee,
Just wanted to show you how big Maggie has gotten! She is so smart and has turned out to be a beautiful girl! We tell everyone what nice golden retrievers you breed and one of our friends, we have heard, has purchased a golden from you! He loves her and spoils her like we do with Maggie!
Thanks so much for Maggie! We are glad we found you.
Krissy
Hi Krissy! I can't believe how beautiful Maggie has become! Yes, your friend did come up and he bought one of our dark golden pups just recently....he called us just a few days ago to tell us how happy he was with her and that his girl was smart and just a great dog. Thank you for sending him to us....he is being a really good daddy to her.
Feb. 20th, 2002
Hey Dee,
Just wanted to give you an update on Switchblade. He's almost 11 months now
and over 100 lbs. This picture was taken while he and I were hanging out with some company. He is about the most easy going puppy you could imagine!
Take care,
Keith
Hi Keith! Wow! Switchblade has grown and is he ever pretty! Er, I mean, HANDSOME! Cool picture! I love the "red dog" beer in front of him. I told you he would get really big! We are no longer breeding the Rottweiler or Doberman as we have had our males neutered......but we are glad that the puppies that we have created in the years of raising these two breeds turned out to be HUGE lap dogs who love their families!
Dee
"Molly" was purchased by Debbie & Gary Martin and she was from our January 18th, 2002 litter of English Springers. Gary sent us this message:
4 April 2002
Hey Dee,
Debbie and I wanted to let you know that Molly is doing just great! her new best friend when she arrived was our 1 year old Siamese Mix cat!
The cat took her in as her own it appears. We watch her groom Molly at night and play with her during the day. She had her vet check the day after she arrived and was pronounced to be a fine specimen!
She received all of her necessary shots. She's truely a wonderful pup! Very loving and so very smart. We love her to death!!! Here's a pic of her a few days ago. I thought you'd like to see her. This is a funny picture! Gary & Debbie Martin
Thank you Gary for the lovely and very cute pictures of Molly! We really did stress out over shipping her because she was so little, but I see she made it just fine and is VERY HAPPY with her new home! I told you she was a funny sleeper! Always strectching out on her back or on her tummy. All of our english springers act like this...I guess we just got very lucky when we chose our breeding stock because I could NOT have asked for a better group of springers than the ones we presently have right now!
Dee
Aug. 28th, 2002
Hi Dee!
Here is a great DOG! Max is a special blessing to us...especially my dad. He continues to be a quick learner. Max keeps my dad entertained because he always demonstrates just how much he understands. Jared is not smiling on the baseball picture because he thinks he should look like a serious player...but believe me, he was THRILLED to have his official picture with Max!
Not only is Max smart...but he is the prettiest dog in the neighborhood! I can't say thank you enough!
KAREN WINSTON
THANK YOU, KAREN, FOR THE WONDERFUL PICTURES OF MAX! HE LOOKS LIKE HE HAS A HITLER MUSTACHE! HILARIOUS! We knew there was something special about Max too and that is why we gladly held on to him until we found just the right family for him. If you are ever wanting a friend for Max, just let us know!
DEE
Dear Kerry & Dave, Thank you very much for the appreciation card! It was a warm welcome on this cold and rainy day! I enjoyed our conversations during the months of your wait and your patience.....I am sure that Brody is a happy puppy who has the best home! I am glad to hear that you finally got settled into your new home and wish your family all the best on your journey into the future! Thank you for your purchase and we hope that you will keep in touch! Give Brody and huge hug for us!
Dee
JORDY'S A PRO!!!
10-07-02
Jordy is one of our beautiful June 2002 goldendoodles purchased by Dean in Florida. He sent us this great photo of Jordy's swimming lesson and what a pro, he is!
Dean reports:
Hi Dee,
Jordy is doing great except for his typical puppy antics....ie chewing spanish moss, newspapers, slippers, etc.....each day that goes by, he gets bigger by the day and his puppy destruction lessens. Our vet told us that he expects Jordy to reach at least 60 pounds, maybe bigger. We're happy about that because we love bigger dogs! He sheds little to none and is starting to get used to swimming on sundays. If you would like to put a link on your site to use me as a reference, please feel free to do so! I will be glad to refer you. Well, take care and we will send more pictures as Jordy grows. I just wanted to tell you thanks so much for a wonderful dog. Both my wife and I love him very much and are just tickled to death over having him.
Dear Dean, Thank you so much for sending the pictures of Jordy.....gorgeous george as I always called him! He seems to really enjoy the water and it doesn't surprise me in the least! Usually in the summer, our goldens are sitting right smack dab in the center of their water buckets or the kiddie pool we give them to play in! I appreciate you keeping in touch to let us know how Jordy is growing and progressing......unless our customers get back to us to keep us informed, we have no way of knowing...but next year when we get the color we are seeking in a doodle, we will be keeping one for ourselves to finally have an adult doodle for those to meet when seeking the "ULTIMATE" family pet!
Take care and give Jordy a huge hug for us!
Dee
This is Toby. He is a male golden retriever from one of our litters in 2002. Alicia sent us this lovely picture on 11-30-02. Alicia Gutierrez says Toby is 50 lbs at 6 mos. of age and he is loving every minute of the Arizona Sunsets! Thank you very much, Alicia for sending us such a nice picture! Toby looks GREAT!
Mr. Hall sent us this lovely picture of Harley.......one of our gorgeous apricot June 2002 doodles....on 12-06-02. Mr. Hall says Harley has three very funny barks.....loves to play ball, go for walks, chase leaves and enjoys playing in the snow! Mr. Hall, his family, including Harley reside in Kentucky.
Dear Mr. Hall, Thank you SO MUCH for sending this great picture of Harley! WOW has he grown and look at all the thick, wavy coat he has! Thanks so much for the kind words and we really appreciate you keeping in touch with us to let us know how he is doing and letting us share him with our readers. This picture that we got this evening, 12-06-02, came as a great welcome on this cold, wintry and icey day! We lost power and water for two and a half days....have had to endure downed trees and powerlines....had to drive 70 miles to find a generator to keep our other new doodles and pups warm while we endured 48 degree temps inside our own home. Over 1.2 million people were in a similar situation....only I cared more about keeping my pups warm than myself. My vet says I have to get my priorities straight.....but, I think they are VERY MUCH IN ORDER!HAHA.... It was SUCH A WONDERFUL blessing to get our power and water restored this evening so that we could get back online! I was going into INTERNET WITHDRAWALS! We hope that your winter is much calmer than what we have had here in NC!!
Dee
On 12-17-02, Dawn sent us this lovely picture of Brisco....one of our June 2002 goldendoodles. She writes:
"Dee,
Hope things are ok there after the big storm! Your new doodles look great! Wondering if you received the pics that I sent the other day. Our boy is growing so fast! He is doing great. He's about 45 lbs at 5 months. His hair is wavy/spikey! Sort of looks like he stuck his paw in a light socket! He's really enjoying the company of our golden male. THey keep each other busy and getting into plenty of trouble. Take care and have a great christmas! If you would like to use me as a reference, please feel free. We love our boy and would recommend you to anyone! Thanks. Dawn. ps: I am having fun watching your doodle page to see Brisco's littermates as they grow!
Dear Dawn, Brisco is sooo cute! He sure IS growing like a weed! We did have a really nasty ice storm! It knocked out our power and water for several days and the eerie thing was hearing the breaking, crashing and booming sound of falling huge trees as the ice took its toll in the middle of the night. We were very fortunate to have found a generator later in the day.....but before we could hook up heat, it was less than 48 degrees inside of our home and you could see your own breath! Our new doodles were on heating pads and poor babies had to huddle together until we could get them back with heat through our generator. It was a real blessing to have our electricity and water restored as we had no running water for several days and had to haul huge buckets of water out to the dogs from our 125 gallon water trough we use in the winter. It was nearly impossible to get gas since 1.2 million Duke Power customers had no electricity and that included businesses and gas stations. But, we are okay now! We thank everyone who called us to see how we were doing and for being concerned! All is well now. Have a Merry Christmas and give Brisco and the rest of your family hugs for us. Stay warm! Dee
Penelope purchased a miniature schnauzer pup from us for the Christmas Holidays...2002... On Dec. 20th, she writes:
Dear Dee,
Little Bradley (male miniature schnauzer) is doing great! He's wonderful with his kennel habits and his potty habits outside. He's so loving! We're getting along great and I justwant to thank you for everything! He's a great companion and exactly what I needed.
Penelope Hinson
Mgr of Public Relations, Marketing and Energy Mgmt.
Penelope,
Thanks for letting us know that you and little Bradley made it home safetly! I am glad that you two hit it off and that all is well. Send us some pictures when you get a chance! We appreciate you making such a long drive....but as you can see, our Schnauzers are worth every mile!
Dee
On 1-6-03, Mr. Kunz sent us this very cute card along with this wonderful picture of Wrigley and his new "Kids". We are delighted to see how Wrigley has grown in such a short amount of time...
Special thanks to Mr. Kunz for this delightful news! UPDATE AS OF APRIL 2006: I spoke with Mr. Albrecht and he says that his Muffin (one of our past goldendoodles) was able to meet Wrigley!!! How cool is that?
Val sent us this wonderful email with regards to "RILEY"....her October doodle purchased from our kennel. We can't wait to get a new picture to see how Riley has grown. Val sent us this email on 1-26-03:
Hi Dee!
Now that we're sleeping through the night, we're having a ton of fun. Riley is truly a wonderful dog. We must admit, it's hard to know for sure when your're corresponding with a breeder whom you don't know about a breed that is not very common. Well this puppy (Riley) has the BEST traits anyone could ever ask for in a dog! First, vitals:
Riley is now almost 16 weeks old.
Riley is now 35 lbs. (Per your vet's formula we can estimate he'll be 70 lbs. ??)
Riley is now 18" tall at the withers. He now goes 8 hours overnight without a potty break with having only 3 mistakes in the house in the first 2 weeks!! He rings the bell hanging on the door to the backyard when he wants to go out (this is his very first trick!) and he comes and its straight on when called and sits on command. Heels well on lead and sits when we stop. Riley eats 1.5 cans of wet puppy pedigree plus 5-6 cups of dry pedigree per day (3 meals). Socializes well with neighbor puppies and adult dogs too. He loves our three cats but can't figureout that they have escaped up stairs when he gets too annoying. He does not go upstairs on his own yet, which we consider a blessing! Sharp nibbling has subsided a bit. He knows what the harsh "NO BITE" command means. Has lots of toys to gnaw on. He still loves his baby. (which was the first toy we had brought for him when we picked him up.) He cuddles with baby during naps. Riley grew out of his first crate (large plastic travel crate) at 12 wks of age and now sleeps very soundly next to our bed on pillow shams. During the day, he behaves in the house while someone is home. When we go out, we leave him in the laundry room with his toys, blanket and he is very happy. He has not gnawed or bitten anything, so basically we have laxed with the crate training. He gets tons of attention, and sits or lies with a rawhide bone or toy, or naps while we're around. This is truly a very cool dog! Basically, Riley is a "floppy" dog! He looks like he is in pajamas that always needs to be ironed! haha A good mixture of Golden and Poodle, his features are equally mixed. He's loving, docile and attentive while also playful and spunky. While most puppies think their name is "NO NO BAD DOG".....Riley thinks that his name is "THAT'S A GOOD BOY!"....of which he truly is!
We'll send some recent pics when they are develope! Best regards...Val, Jim & Sarah
Dear Val, thank you so much for such great news on this very cold, early morning! I am very glad to hear she is doing well. Keep up the good work with the training. We can't wait to see pictures of him!
Dee
Bella is a beautiful Goldendoodle out of our October 2002 litter. On 1-27-03, Charlene writes:
"Just wanted to let you know that Bella is doing well. She has adapted to her kennel well although she still wakes early in the a.m. to go out. Since I live in a second story condo. she has quickly learned to navigate the stairs. We went to the vet last thursday and she now weighs 30 lbs.
Her coat is very soft and silky and just wavy, no curl. Her face is definitely a "poodle face". She sits on command and barks to go out. Bella does not heel yet but she loves to go for walks.
We have a fenced in area at the condo where dogs are allowed to run free and we go there in the afternoons to "play ball" and release the energy she stores up during the day. She starts "day care" tomorrow. She will go twice a week in the beginning. We will see how that goes. I heard from Valerie today regarding Riley and she sent some pictures.
We have recently taken some pictures of Bella and I will send them to you as soon as they are developed. In the mean time, we are oing well and she is a love!
Charlene
Hi Charlene,
Thank you for letting me know how Bella is doing! Valerie contacted me also yesterday (1-26-03) to let us know how Riley was doing and so far, all of our October doodles are doing just great. From the weights that everyone has given me for the October doodles, it sounds like Hailey throws our larger pups. I know that our November doodles are much smaller.....so, this is a classic example of how goldendoodles can vary in size per litter & pup. But all in all, they are wonderful dogs who make great companions and those who own them know just how great they are!
2006 UPDATE....UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY NEW PHOTOS OF BELLA......
Jan. 27, 2003
Hi Dee! Here are some pics of Dutchess! She is such a smartie. She took her first trip to central SC to visit my grandparents. Shea,
the 6 yr old really tired her out saturday and part of sunday. I wanted you to see the "heart" shape on her butt and the wish bone shape on the top of her head. I think she knows Ron & I quite well.
Dutchess recognizes her toys and barks if someone gets near them. She has a white shaggy duck that squeeks and she sleeps on. She also shakes it around. There is a tag on it she likes to chew on. Just like a little kid! I think she is spoiled. Thank you so much for her!!!
I will keep you informed of her progress.
Love,
Jane
Dear Jane,
Thank you for your card and lovely pictures today.... Jan. 27, 2003. Dutchess has grown seeing as she was just a tiny little squirt when she left us for her new home with you and Ron. We are glad to know she is doing well. I think the fact that she has a heart shape on her rear and a wishbone shape on her head makes her all the more special. We wish you well and that you have many wonderful years with Dutchess!
She was our very first "parti-colored" american cocker spaniel puppy in more than three years. All of our other pups in the past had been solid colors. She indeed is a special little girl in more ways than one!
Jordy (up above), was our only male goldendoodle born with beautiful green eyes and chocolate trim...we are hoping to get some doodles in 2003 with Jordy's gorgeous markings & trim. His parents sent us these wonderful pictures of Jordy, who is working on age 8 months of age. His mommy writes:
HI DEE!
JORDY IS STILL GROWING! He was 57 lbsas of earlier this week and is about 24" at the shoulder. How tall are Scisco and his mom? Remember that we raised a Great Dane and so Jordy could NEVER get too big for us. haha The vet told us that he wouldn't be surprised if he gets to be even taller and hits 75 lbs. since he is only 7 mos. old now. We are feeding him IAMS Lamb and RICE puppy, plus some cheese and meat.
I can't believe you had 12 pups this time! We were astounded when we heard that Jordy was in a litter of 10!
We're so glad to hear that they are all doing well. Here are a couple of new pictures of Jordy. I don't think we had sent you any since his first haircut. By the way, everyone we know....family, friends, vet, etc....asks alot of questions about Jordy and so we may be able to send some more customers your way at some time. We are going to visit your site again soon so that we can see the new pups. We ALWAYS talk highly of you because we feel that you really care for your puppies and always kept in touch with us from the time we were initially interested in a puppy, through the birth, his delivery and even now. We want you to know how much we really appreciate it!
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO YOU!
Jordy's mommy & daddy
Dear Wendy,
Thank you so much for the updated pictures and the kind words......Jordy is SO BEAUTIFUL! All of our goldendoodles just keep getting more beautiful as they age. I have to tell you that when I see my doodles getting older, that it brings back fond memories of my sister's Doodle, Hennie, of whom we loved so much.
Her passing at the age of nine was very hard on not only us, but my sister and even my mother. Hennie has been gone now for nearly five years and we still talk about her as though we lost her yesterday. Our goldendoodles were created in her loving memory and honestly, we didn't even have a name for our wonderful puppies (goldendoodles) when we first crossed our poodle with our golden retriever. For nearly two years, I studied the looks of my golden females and my friend's standard poodles and all I could see was Hennie's face...and I just knew that these puppies were Hennie all over again. My inner instincts pushed me to create our "breed". Little did I know there actually was such a hybrid that even had a name! Once I discovered (thanks to one of our customers with our first doodles) this hybrid actually existed, I read as much information as I could.....kept logs of information about my own puppies and to this day....want to know as much about my own puppies as possible as they grow.....for my own information and to share with others who may be interested. I am very thankful to everyone who has purchased from us and keeps in contact to provide me with details on how their pups are doing and sending us great pictures. Have a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY IN SUNNY FLORIDA!
ALL OF OUR GOLDENDOODLES ARE DEDICATED TO THE LOVING MEMORY OF OUR BEAUTIFUL HENNIE WHO CROSSED THE RAINBOW BRIDGE.
On 2-9-03, we received this cute picture of "CHRISSIE".....one of our October 2002 doodles from Mrs. Hicks. She writes:
"Hi Dee,
We have named our puppy; Her name is Chrissie. We really love her loads! She is so adorable, but growing every day. She now weighs 28 lbs! Sarah and I take her to "Puppy Kindergarten" on saturday mornings....she just loves being around the other pups. Our hard disc crashed, so my husband has been trying to fix it. I'll email some photos when the computer is feeling better. Hope you're having a great 2003!
PS: She is now fully housebroken and knows "SIT", "DOWN" "STAY"!
Hey you guys! Thanks for such a cute picture! Chrissis looks like she is ready to rip those papers to shreds! I think that puppy Kindergarten is a FANTASTIC idea....especially to teach both the owner and the puppy commands. It also helps make the housebreaking much easier. My two little 'Hellion" Boston children certainly could use such a class!hahah I love them to death, but they are wide open all the time. It looks to me like Chrissie is taking more after the Golden Retriever....could this just be the way it looks in the photo? I'm curious to know if her coat texture is wavy or straight and thick. These doodles are just the greatest dog anyone could ever own....I have become smitten with each and every one! Have fun and I hope she graduates with flying colors!
Dee
Jane sent us these lovely pictures of her with one of our first parti-colored American Cocker Spaniel pups.
Dutchess is a very special pup in more ways than one! She has a heart shape on her behind and the shape of a wishbone on her head....not only that, the black behind her head comes to the shape of a heart. On 2-3-03, Jane writes:
Hi Dee!
Here are the pictures of Dutchess taken this past week. She is such a smart pup! She has us trained already.
She does pretty good at commands. She definitely has a very unique personality. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Thank you again.
Love,
Jane
Hi Jane! Thank you so much for keeping in contact with me regarding Dutchess! I enjoy speaking with you on the phone and learning of this little girls' new antics! She was such a ham while with us, too! She would jump towards me with both paws and bark and want to play and play!
She was very outgoing even when she was able to first open her eyes. We enjoyed every second we spent with Dutchess right up til the day you and your husband picked her up. We hope you have many years of joy with her and I am sure she will prove to be the best companion one could ask for!
Dee
Diane & Mr. Sutton purchased their doodles from our November 2002 litter. On 2-26-03, Diane sent these great pics of both pups and writes:
Hi Dee-
Hart's hair doesn't seem as curly as it was when we was tiny....but has maintained someof the curls, especially around his ears and neck when he is wet. He looks like a huge black bear! His hair (on his back) grows in every direction, like he has a million cowlicks. PRECIOUS! He loves to hug- both arms wrapped around my neck. Charlie (the miniature schnauzer we got from you earlier) taught him that I think! He is almost too big for Pierce to pick up. He has to sit on the floor to hold him. He can reach the tops of the kitchen counters....YIKES!! But he behaves himself and listens pretty well so he hasn't gotten himself into much trouble yet. He and Charlie are very sweet together. Charlie definiately has the right name-ANGEL. She is precious. She has definitely become a mama's girl, although she won't get far from Pierce's side. If he leaves the room or goes outside without him, she is lonely and searches for him everywhere. Doodlebug (Sutton's pup) is also just as precious! We babysit her when the Suttons go out of town. I love having them both together. He hair feels more fine than Hart's. His is very, very thick! She is also not as heavy as Hart. They look about the same size in height. Hart now weighs 25+ pounds. Charlie, our miniature schnauzer, weighs 12 lbs.
Hi !
Thanks so much for sending such lovely pictures of the boys and your children. All look so very happy! We knew they were going to a very loving home as soon as we met you & your wife. THank you for taking two as these pups do enjoy having a "friend" to keep them occupied when the family is away. It also helps prevent seperation anxiety by having two at the same time. We look forward in seeing more pictures as these babies grow!
Dee
Meet the "annonymous" family with their lovely two doodles they purchased out of our Feb. 2003 litter. CLICK HERE to read about Queenie's pups. After flying down from New York to make their doodle selection,
the parents saw how beautiful they were and had to have not one...but TWO babies to take back home with them. On April 7,2003...we sent us these lovely pictures and writes:
Dear Dee,
The boys are doing great! They doubled their weight in the two weeks we've had them. Cosmo weighs 12 lbs and Zappa tips the scale at 8.5 lbs; They love their crate and show promise of being housebroken in the near future.
The kids love them! Cosmo is getting lighter in color and Zappa is now more apricot. They are very loving and playful. Here are a few pictures. We'll keep updating you as they grow. Don't worry about them as we keep them busy around the clock with all the neighborhood kids coming over every day after school to play with them.
( sorry, at the owners' request, we can not list this buyer or show the faces of their children to protect their identity)
Hi Diane! Thanks so much for the great pics of Hart & Doodlebug! Also for the information on both! You are the first one to send any pictures out of that November litter so it is nice to know what size Hart is. I really miss my last black puppy that left us. He is living in Largo, Florida with Kimberly. I became very attached to him & reluctantly parted with him. It is sometimes hard to part with these wonderful doodles and I'd love to keep them all....BUT!!!! It sounds like Hart will be leggy and tall like Dad, Blackie! 25 lbs is right on target. Doodlbug being smaller is right as well. Hart was the largest male in that November litter and I believe Doodlebug was the smallest, wasn't she? I am also glad to hear that Charlie....the lovely miniature schnauzer you got from us before Hart was born...is doing great! She sounds like she is the only one in her litter to be the regular Miniature Schnauzer size. The two males that were with us when Charlie left were much smaller! Our Miniature Schnauzers can range from 8 lbs to 13 lbs and we call our smaller schnauzers "TOYS"...which sometimes throws people off guard!haha But it is nothing more than a breeders' term meaning they are smaller than the regular miniature size.
Dee
Meet Connie & her lovely doodle, Rusty. Rusty was born to us towards the end of 2002. He was apricot when he left us, but Connie reports that he has lightened (as does happen with our doodles) closer now to a cream. On April 7, 2003 Connie sent these great pics and writes:
Hi Dee,
Attached are some pictures of Rusty taken 3/30 when he was 4 1/2 months old . He was 33 lbs at that time. He is a real pleasure for us...a true velcro dog!!! He has alot of energy and loves being outside. He is a true boy and loves to chew and explore so we keep an eagle eye on him when he is not in his crate or when he is not safetly behind the gates in the kitchen. His only really bad habit is that he loves to eat grass, sticks, mulch and dirt despite our best efforts to keep him from doing so. He has wavy hair and sheds very little. His hair has gotten straighter as he has gotten older, but it grows in every direction and keeps him looking like a real mop head! He still curls up when he gets wet or after a bath until he is brushed. He has been going to puppy training classes and is the star of the show!
He is very smart and loves the trainer (of course) and loves to show off his new skills. The other "parents" in the class affectionately call him the "over achiever"! He is a very friendly dog greeting everyone he comes across with doggie kisses. People love to pet him and always comment on his soft coat. They always want to know what kind of a dog he is. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
Connie
Hi Connie,
What lovely pictures and I absolutely LOVE YOUR KITCHEN HARDWOOD FLOOR by the way! Seems like we have been remodeling forever, but eventually we will have the same type of flooring installed in our livingroom floor.
Rusty sure has grown since he left us last year! He is very pretty and I love his "shaggy" look. Thanks so much for keeping in touch as I am trying to keep track of how small or large my doodles from each of our dams turns out as they become adults. It doesn't surprise me that everyone adores our doodles when they meet them! You can't help but love a dog who enjoys giving plenty of kisses and has a coat as soft as silk! I always make the comment to those who ask about the coat that you could easily accidentally drop one of our pups when holding them because their coat is sooooo extra silky that the pups can slip right through your fingers! We are glad to hear that all is going well with Rusty and your family. Keep in touch.
Dee
On 5-5-03, we received a very long and great updated email from Rhoda who, with her husband, purchased one of our English Springer Spaniel boys the middle of 2002. Her update:
Dear Dee,
I have been wanting to get a letter off to you before this, but this has been a busy time and I'm just starting to get caught up. Perazzi is doing fine and this nost is mostly about him.
I think I did tell you that we had him neutered in Feb. and except for a little fluid retention after the surgery (around his incision), everything went well.
Most of his hair has grown back and there aren't any complications. He hasn't slowed down in the field either! He loves to get out with Fred and just run, but he definitely is "birdy" and one day fetched in some pheasant wing feathers he found under a bush. The fields are closed now because the hens are siting on their clutches, but we still have a couple of spots where Fred can take him to build up his leg muscles. He will be eight months old this coming Wednesday and weighs over 45 lbs.
Hi Rhoda,
Thank you very much for your extensive email and updates on Praz! I don't mind one bit how much you brag about him....our English Springer Spaniels are great dogs and make wonderful companions to those who know how to work with them and keep them occupied. Too bad that we still have Perazzi's brother who is also black/white and has similar characteristics.....those who have contacted us for an English Springer Spaniel and made the comment that he is "Too old" (Like 8 months of age is OLD!) to bond with their families just have no idea what they are missing out on! They make the comment without ever even meeting him or seeing him!
His brother is the perfect age to learn how to do the exact same things that Perazzi is learning to do and as you can see, with little effort, how quickly our springers are to train and pick up on things you want them to know!
Thanks for giving Perazzi such a wonderful home and we hope Fred continues to get better and better! Our prayers and thoughts are with you all and we hope to see a new snapshot of Perazzi when you get the chance!
Dee
We are using Frontline Plus for flea and tick protection and even though Fred picked up a tick, we have found nothing on Praz. Our vet said he thought we should not use Advantix (mosquito protection) until it has been out on the market for another year or so. He's concerned about the chemical formula. We had a miserable, muddy spring, so I bought a calf-feeding tub and taught Perazzi to hop into it with a few inches of warm, soapy water in the bottom...turn around two or three times and then jump out into a towel. Then he would lay down and help us dry off his feet and leggings (which I have trimmed some). He's in our house with us but sleeps in his Petmate carrier downstairs at night (and travels in one in the van). I'm still using the big towel you sent with him over the pad in the bottom of it and he also takes other clean towels I put by the door and arranges them inside, mostly around the insides of the carrier to form an oval nest! We took him to the groomer last week. One of our friends who also has a springer has been going to this woman's shop for ten years and recommended her. Her regular sessions are three hours long...bath, nails, the works...but I thought this was too much for him to be there on his first trip...so I asked her just to trim his "puppy" afro over the top of his head and under his ears. I was glad that she didn't mind if we watched her work because I really wanted to see how she related to the dog. Perazzi wasn't thrilled about the clipper but he let her work on him, didn't piddle on the grooming table and didn't bite her.
We....Fred, I and Praz....are also going to obedience school. He already knew come, sit, stay, but now we are working on "no jump, no bite, leave it, easy and heel". Fred had some problems walking Praz in the neighborhood and on the town walking trail (which is good because of the mix of other dogs...runners, skaters...baby carriages, etc....) so the trainer had Fred use a "Halti" head collar and it's working!!! Perazzi definitely wants it off as soon as he gets back to the house or car, but otherwise he tolerates it. Yesterday he did a really good job responding on the walk and I think he understands "Leave it". There are three other dogs in the class and Perazzi just sits down by Fred and watches when they start squaring off against each other. The Australian sheep dog barks alot...Praz rarely does.
He watches----just the way you told me he used to do as a very young puppy. Perazzi is exposed to all sorts of smells since the class is held upstairs and a horse training exercise ring is down below. Perazzi is a TRUE GIFT! I can't imagine our lives without him right now! I hope I don't sound too much like a bragging "puppy parent"...but I guess that's just what I am. I hope all is well with you and your family, Dee.
Rhoda
We still get puppy behavior from time to time. Sunday morning he stood chewing on the coffee tableas he watched us drink our morning coffee in the kitchen! He does not shed at all and he looks like a beige English Sheepdog! We tried trimming him ourselves but he bucked like a bronco leaving me with many bruises! Maube we'll pay the groomer again! We are having mothers day at our house this weekend and will try and get a good picture of him to send you. It's amazing to watch him just keep growing. We hope he even get's bigger. If your customers want a referral please have them email us. My internet service provider actually died so I had to change my email address.
Please update your current info in your address book. I hope all is well at home and the kennel. Dean.
CLICK HERE if you wish to email Dean regarding his lovely Goldendoodle.
Dean & Wendy purchased Lovely "Gorgeous George" (Jordy) in 2002. Jordy is a beautiful goldendoodle from our kennel. We are very glad that they stay in touch and that all is well in sunny Florida!
On 5-5-03, Dean writes:
Hi Dee,
Just wanted to give you the lowdown on Jordy....alias Gorgeous George. At 10 months he stands at about 25" at the shoulder and weighs 69 pounds. We hope he keeps growing! Sometimes he likes to go swimming in the pool and other times he won't go near it.
He is easily trained and loves to play with us and our Greyhound. He is shy with strangers, but loves kids. His personality is just great and we think he is on "CUTE PILLS".
Hi Dean, Wendy and Jordy!!!!
It was very nice to hear from you again! THank you so much for the update! I haven't heard from the others who purchased from Jordy's litter and so it is nice to know how tall he is at his age now. Mike's Golden Nugget was Jordy's mom and surprisingly, she is very petite and his dad, Scisco stands only at 21-22.5" tall!haha This just proves my theory that you can't judge a puppy by the height or weight of their parents! Everytime you try, that theory just blows right out the window. I think that Jordy has picked up the tall genes from his PEKAY LINEAGE. He has a few more months of growing.....he should be at his maximum weight/height at 1 yr of age. Now I am sure, if he is neutered, he will gain more weight...most altered dogs do. Okay, I did post your email link for those to get hold of you for further doodle information, but be aware that if someone sends you email with MY NAME ATTACHED TO IT that has something attached, it is NOT from me! There has been ill-intentioned people out there submitting email virus' to our customers under the pretense that the email was from me or from those inquiring about doodles and that is why we deliberately removed links to our customers. It is a shame there are such ill-intentioned people out there...but there are and we just have to deal with it the best way possible. We can't wait to see a new pic of Jordy! Thank you so much for keeping in contact! We wish all of our doodle owners would....but life sometimes gets too busy!
Dee
Debbie & Curt Lowder purchased "Daisy"...a beautiful red/white Basset Hound from us 2 1/2 yrs ago. On 5-7-03 we got this very nice picture of Daisy and Debbie's email:
Dee,
We got a Basset Hound from you about 2 1/2 years ago. Our name is Curt & Debbie Lowder. We got a red and white female. She is the love of our life, next to our children. Attached is a picture (to the far left) of her. She has the best personality! I never dreamed she would turn out so perfect! We are now wanting to get another Basset Hound....a male Tri-color. Not for breeding.
We had Daisy fixed when she was just 6 months old.
We are just wanting another for companionship and more love. We are not looking to get one until we are back from vacation in June. Could you please help us out in finding another one?
Sincerely,
Debbie Lowder
Dear Valerie,
We thank you for speaking so highly of Riley and our kennel/website...but I do need to correct you on a couple of things. Our doodles can become large due to our having PEKAY lineage in our Golden Retrievers.....Hybrid vigor is actually a term someone thought up meaning that a hybrid mixture is stronger/healthier than that of a purebred dog...which can be true, especially when two different purebred dogs are bred of different breeds. This comes about because there is no inbreeding or linebreeding or breeding "back" into the "line" . But, now there are some doodle breeders who are doing serious damage to this hybrid mixture because they are breeding doodles to doodles and then keeping back doodles from a doodle litter and breeding that back to the doodle parents because they are trying to create a "purity" of these dogs....which blows away the entire concept of what a Goldendoodle is suppose to be about in the first place. The entire concept of a Goldendoodle is to be a first hybrid crossing of two purebred dogs...not all of this back breeding or linebreeding....only then can you achieve "hybrid Vigor". Size does not determine this hybrid vigor, however. Size is determined by the Lineage/genes a breeder has in each parent. Also, Little Lola Pippins....our first STandard Poodle puppy sired by our beautiful & ultra sweet BLACKIE, was just born on April 6th, 2003....so, she can not even be considered as a mom to our doodles until she is nearly two years of age. We do have high hopes for Lola because she does possess a superb champion lineage and both her mother and father came from the same breeder....just different parents. Both of her parents are equally beautiful, sensitive, jolly and happy go lucky dogs! As far as doodle litters go, we presently have puppies available.....but they are selling quickly. those interested may CLICK HERE for further doodle litter information. As always, our site is always kept current and the information is posted as we get time and as the information comes to us!
Dee
Riley is one of our Goldendoodles born to us on 10/10/02. Valerie sent this email "letter" to somone who was inquiring about a goldendoodle and she forwarded this to us on 5-15-03:
"Kevin,
Elizabeth Dulin said you were interested in Goldendoodles. Well, I can't tell you enough about Riley! He's 7 mos. old; 65 lbs; 24.5 inches at the withers. His mom is a Golden Retriever, approx. 24" and dad is an apricot Standard Poodle, 21.5" tall.
Sometimes the cross breeds produce larger dogs, "vigor hybrids" I think they are called; Definitely the case here. Great temperament, very affectionate, smart, a little michieveous sometimes but basically obedient. Not hyper at all, in fact, we call him "Floppy Riley" because he shuffles around and just "flops" down whereever he is. My husband and daughter and I spoil him equally so there really isn't an alpha figure in our house. Riley goes where the playing is and would much rather romp.
That's the puppy in him. You will never see a cuter dog! He does not shed at all, a little hair on the comb or brush, but none on clothes, floor, etc.
We haven't groomed him yet except for trimming his face and beard. We like to keep the dripping beard short and hair trimmed around his eyes. We'll probably get his thick wavey coat trimmed for this summer. He looks like a Giant Stuffed animal whose pajamas need to be ironed. People say we should have named him Gundt. We got Riley from Lake Ridge Kennel in NC, just north of Charlotte. Dee is full of doodle information. Her website is awesome!
Check it out! Not sure what her litter status is right now, but she was talking about using a Prize Golden sire and Poodle female, opposite combination, this year.
Best Regards,
Valerie
Dear Debbie,
How nice to hear from you after all this time. Thank you so much for such a lovely picture of Daisy. MY HOW SHE HAS GROWN! She looks alot like "Mattie"....our red/white girl who is Daisy's sister. Unfortunately, the breeder we got your girl and her two sisters from (of whom we kept) no longer breeds the Basset Hound....hence....WHY WE NOW DO! Presently we have three beautiful tri-colored females and 1 lemon/white female available. If you change your mind and wish to accept a female, just give us a call! We'd be happy to help you out. Basset Hounds are difficult to breed and we only have puppies on occasion. Only 1 tri-colored boy was born to Mattie (the mother to the three tri-colored females we now have) and he was the first one sold and his new family picked him up from New York.
Thanks again for thinking of us for your next puppy and if we can help you, feel free to call us!
Dee
As of 5-15-03, Debbie & Curt did come by and purchased their second little Basset Hound girl from us. A lovely Tri-color.
On 5-10-03, Jane sent us these wonderful pictures as well as an update on Dutchess.....one of our very first Parti-colored American Cocker Spaniel pups. Jane writes that Shay keeps Dutchess very busy when she visits and that Dutchess is soo very smart and now weighs 17 lbs; They are so very happy to have Dutchess and we are very glad that Jane keeps in contact with us to give us updates and photos of Dutchess as she grows. Jane says that Dutchess is very spoiled and has no inkling that she is a dog!
On 6-6-03, Mr. Brooks sent us this lovely picture of MAY. She is one of our apricot goldendoodle pups born to us in Feb. of 2003.
Scisco's Kid, our proven Standard Poodle sire is her dad. Mr. Brooks writes:
"Hi Dee!!!
Just thought you would like to see how baby Brooks is doing. She is a very sweet girl. Her name is May. She has had three visits to our vet and she has grown from 7 lbs to 15 lbs and now to 26 lbs! She is now a little over 14wks old. She is beautiful and we love her! EVERYBODY LOVES HER! So I'm sure you will be hearing from some people interested in your doodles. THANK YOU!!!!
The Brooks Family ps: Hope you like the picture!!
Hi Mr. Brooks!
NOT ONLY DO I LIKE THE PICTURE....I LOVE IT! Wow has May grown! She soooo reminds me of "RUSTY"......you can view his picture up above with his owner, Connie. Rusty was born to us in Nov. of 2002 and his father is Blackie. It just goes to show ya that even though puppies may have different sires,
if the Dams have genes in common and the sires have common ancestors too, you will still get puppies that favor each other tremendously! But, Blackie and Scisco's Kid also have shared ancestors.... So, there you have it! I would love to know how tall she becomes when is 1 year old. Weight is not so important because weights will vary per owner and other factors such as spaying/neutering and how the pet is fed.
We hope that you will keep in contact with us as she grows....she is definitely a KEEPER!!!!
Dee
Hi Valerie! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THOSE WONDERFUL PICTURES OF RILEY! You're pretty good with that camera! He is sooo gorgeous and wow, does Sarah and Riley make a great team for models! They need to be in a magazine! We'd like to direct our potential customers to CLICK HERE to view more pics of Riley that you sent......since there were so many pics...which we absolutely love....we decided to place them together in a little "beach" collage. By the way....HAPPY BIRTHDAY RILEY!
Dee
This is baby Fritzmemeier.....now "Lola Bear". She was born in April, 2003. On July 1, 2003, Ms. Fritzemeier sent us these beautiful pictures of Lola and this great email:
"Hi there! Here are some pictures of Baby Fritzemeier of Kansas now known as Lola Bear! She is just the greatest! The Cutest! Sweetest! Lola is getting along great with her (non-related) two older Golden Retriever sisters, Chloe, age 6 and Gwyneth...age 3. She is doing great on her potty training and crate training but loves to get up extra early! She is fiesty, yet sweet as can be. I love her so much! We will keep sending pictures to keep you updated. Lola is kind of like the local Wichita, Kansas, celebrity because not too many people have heard of a Goldendoodle. Now everyone wants one! Thanks for bringing so much joy into our lives.
Sincerely,
W. Freitzemeier and Lola Bear
Thank so much for sending me these beautiful pictures of Lola! How funny that you selected the same name that I named my baby standard Poodle puppy LOLA who was raised in April by our Golden Retriever, Joy along with her own doodles. Lola bear is sooo pretty! We have some great Goldendoodle gifts now at our Goldendoodle gift shop...make sure to visit it in case you wish to own some clothing, mugs or other items that feature the Goldendoodles! CLICK HERE TO VISIT. We hope you will stay in touch and keep us posted on her size as she grows.
Dee
This is May. She is one of our gorgeous doodle pups born to us in Feb. 2003. On July 1, 2003, Mr. Brooks sent us this great picture and this email:
May brooks vacationing in sunny, Ocean City, New Jersey.
How about 4 1/2 months old, she is doing very well. May is pictured with Stephanie and Jacqueline. Hope all is well with you, Dee! Have a great fourth of July holiday!!!
The Brooks Family
Thank so much for sending me this great picture of May and your family! Everyone, including May, looks very happy.....it actually even looks like May is smiling too!!! She is growing up so beautiful and I absolutely LOVE her coat! Keep in touch and thanks again for sending us pics as she grows. Although our doodles are sooo much work while they are here with us, I miss each and every one after they leave! It is nice to see them again, even if far away.
Dee
This is Jordy...AKA Gorgeous George!!! You can read about Jordy all along this page and on our Doodle Friends' page. Jordy has now turned 1 year of age! He is still gorgeous as ever!!!! Today, July 1, 2003.....Mrs. Crews writes:
HI! Dee!!! How is everything with you?? We thought that you might like to see an updated picture of Jordy. This was taken yesterday on his first birthday. As you can see, he got a nice short cut for the summer.
Take care!
W. Crews
Hi Everyone! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JORDY!!!! And of course to all of your siblings! It would be nice to know how his brothers and sisters are doing. WE thank you so much for keeping in contact with us! WOw, has Jordy grown! He looks so much lighter in color too! Hard to believe that a whole year has passed already! We hope everyone, including Jordy and his canine buddies have a wonderful July 4th Holiday!
Take care!
Dee
On July 23, 2003 C. Lamoreaux sent us this very cute picture of "Sonny". Sonny was born to our kennel on Feb. 6, 2003 and his new mom writes:
"Hi, Dee!
I just wanted to send you a recent photo of "Sonny" (From your Feb. 6th litter of Goldendoodles). He's like a local celebrity around here and is quite used to being stopped by strangers who just want to touch his soft fur and tell him he's the cutest puppy they've ever seen. I am asked at least 3 times during a brief walk what kind of dog he is, where did I get him, etc. I'm often told he looks "just like" a Wheaton *(Terrier) but the truth is he's WAY cuter than a Wheaton!
Sonny is quite the entertainer-so smart and playful! And is one of the best in our obedience class. We are pals-I love him so much, Dee, and I just wanted you to know how happy "WE" are! Someone told me there was a whole segment on Goldendoodles on the Today Show a couple of weeks ago; I'm sorry I missed it, but it seems this breed is becoming more and more popular-and for good reason!
Hope you're all well and enjoying the summer!
Best Regards,
Cheryl Lamoreaux
CJLam@aol.com
Hi Cheryl!
Thank you so much for sending us this wonderful picture.....of a really SPOILED DOODLE!haha I also appreciate your keeping in touch! We love getting letters and photos of our goldendoodle babies! I also heard about the doodles being on the Today Show, however, those who were on the show did not completely tell the truth! I was told (I did not see the show either!) that someone on the show boasted how the F2 (second generation doodles) were much better than the F1 (first hybrid crossing) doodles and that is soooooo far from the truth!
So, I certainly hope that those who did see the show, did not take everything to heart in what was said. Yes, the Goldendoodle is certainly becoming increasingly popular and it will not be long before you see AKC pick up the tab and hop on the "gravy train". When they see a dog become popular, that is when you see their kennel club get them recognized quickly as a purebred. This is because AKC definitely knows how to rake in the money where registering dogs are concerned. At this time we are expecting new babies and I was able to take a very brief vacation to florida for several days before my next two litters are born! We hope your summer is a great one for both you and Sonny! He is simply adorable!
Take care!
Dee
On July 31, 2003 we received a very nice note and this lovely picture from Mr. & Mrs. Read of Pennyslvannia.
Meet "Phoebe". She has jut recently been spayed and we would like to share her with our readers.
Phoebe is one of our April 2003 puppies. She is a beautiful "Cream".
Here is what Mrs. Read had to say:
"Hi Dee,
Phoebe is about 27 lbs now. She is a sweetie. Quite a bit more demanding, stubborn and willful than our Tesa was but what a great disposition!
She talks to us and lets us know what she wants (except bathroom). She is a beautiful animal and very bright. She has definitely brought life back into the house. Phoebe at 6 months with our grandson, Jake. She's still not sure what to make of him.
Thank you very much for sending us Phoebe's picture! I think all of my customers must be professional photographers because we have really gotten some gorgeous pics lately! By the looks of it, Phoebe is going to be a very large girl! I absolutely love her coat! Thank you also for letting me know how much she weighs as we are trying to keep records of each litter to know how much our doodles weigh at certain ages.
I am very glad that Phoebe has brought happiness to your family and hope she continues to do so!!!
Dee
On 19 August 2003...we received this lovely email from LOLA BEAR;
one of our beautiful Goldendoodles who lives in Kansas. She writes:
HI THERE LAKE RIDGE!
It is me, Lola from Kansas....Wichita, Kansas that is! How are you out in North Carolina? I am great! I love my new home! I sleep right next to my older Golden Retriever "sister" Gwyneth during the day and at night sometimes my mommy lets me out and lets me sleep and snuggle with her on the bed! I am losing my baby teeth and getting my big doggy teeth now. I start obedience classes next week too! I am getting so big! Well, my mommy loves me to death. I have made her so happy and make her laugh every day. Sometimes I like to jump on the sofa and then climb onto the desk. I am silly. Well, I was wondering how the rest of my litter was doing? Do you have any pictures or email addresses of them?
Take care! I will keep in touch.
Love,
Lola Bear (Baby Fritzemeier of Wichita, Kansas)
Thank you very much, Lola Bear, for sending us a recent picture of yourself and this lovely updated email! I regret to say that we do not have email addresses of your siblings and have only received a recent email from "Phoebe".....who I believe is one of your siblings. You can view her picture up above. I am very glad that you are so happy and well loved......THAT'S WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT, RIGHT?
You are turning out to be a lovely girl......please do stay in touch and keep us updated on how tall you grow when you turn 1 year old.....Have a great summer!
Love, Dee
On Sept. 19th, 2003.....our customer who owns "Jordy" (who is now 1 year old) responded to an email sent to him from someone seeking a reference regarding our kennel and our Goldendoodles. We thought we would share his response with other prospective buyers who seek to join our "DOODLE WORLD":
Hi B$%^&@, (name deliberately blocked out)
We appreciate your interest in our Goldendoodle. We can only sing the praises of Jordy and of Dee and Mike at Lake Ridge.
Pictures of Jordy should still be on their website for viewing.
I understand your wanting to handle a doodle to check out hair texture, etc....
The only problem that breeders have with this is that more often than not, their pups are "pre-sold"...meaning that they already have been purchased by their new family. The families usually don't appreciate the pups being handled by strangers due to the risk of illness which may be introduced by these visits.
Our dog, Jordy, is of course a Goldendoodle. We purchased him from Dee and Mike and had Mike bring him to us at our home in Southwest, Florida. The little guy was brought to us from within a clean, air conditioned truck and was in great shape! He was the cutest little thing that we have ever seen! Jordy learned very quickly, was already socialized very well and was an immediate star.....not to mention a great companion to our grown Greyhound, Tetta.
His coat is very soft with a definite wave. He sheds very little to nothing at all!!!! His activity level has never been exceptionally high and he continues to be more doglike rather than puppylike with each passing day. Jordy looks like he is half Golden and half Standard Poodle.....a true "in-between". His color may be considered Apricot but could also be considered very close to the color of some purebred Golden Retrievers. Apricots are a little bit more apricot, if you know what I mean. We would consider him somewhat of a red color. As my mother-in-law said:
"I THINK YOU MUST BE FEEDING JORDY CUTE PILLS!!!!". Jordy does not have a sharp, long snout. It is somewhat longer than a pure Golden, but is much more full and round-shaped.
To mke a long story short, if you have the chance to pick up a Goldendoodle from Dee, do it!!!!!!!!
We couldn't ask for a more intelligent, loving kid than Jordy.
Good luck with your new doodle!
