Both Shea, Bailey and Teddy have two things in common..... for one, they are a Goldendoodle.......for two.....they have the same mother......TRIXIE....all of Trixies' puppies started out like the doodle to the left.......apricot and wavey!
But my how they grow so fast! Below, we will start with "ladies" first...Shea and then we will show off Bailey and Teddy......her brothers.
Trixie was a very good mother to her lovely babies. It is amazing how much our doodles all favor each other even when they have a different father or mother. It would be great to get pictures and information back from all of Trixis' babies' owners.....but we are very appreciative of those who have kept in contact with us and have sent us pictures!
To the right is Trixie with her brood of doodles. She is a very sweet, gentle, loving Golden Retriever who was born and bred by our Kennel. Two more of her past doodles can be viewed below.
Meet Shea......one of Trixies' pups who is now nearly 11 months old. She was born in 2003.
Shea is a lovely apricot girl who lives in Manhatten, New York with her new mommy and Daddy.
We received a really nice email from both of Sheas' parents on 7/30/04 to give us an update....
Shea has turned out to be a very beautiful Goldendoodle! She also has lightened up quite a bit....which we expected. Nine times out of ten, our Goldendoodles will lighten as they grow. As we have said over and over......our doodles are "reverse" from our Golden Retrievers and it does take a full two years for their coat to mature. From the time they are born until they turn 2 years old, their coat continues to go through a growing phase.......unlike Golden Retrievers who darken as they age, we have seen our Goldendoodles lighten as they age.
Sheas' family writes:
"Hello to our friends at Lake Ridge!!!
Shea Gelboim is doing just great and adjusting well to her new home in New York City. She is now 11 months old and everyone just loves her! Trixie is Sheas' mom. Even though she's almost fully grown now, we get stopped on the street every few feet by everybody! She is loved by all! Nobody in our building knows our names, but they all know Shea!!!! We love her so much that we just can't imagine our lives without her! When we first got her, she was just 7 pounds.....she is 11 months old now and nearly 50 pounds. We also wanted to let you know that Sheas' mommy and daddy were married on May 30th and Shea spent three glorious weeks with her grandparents in the suburbs. She had her first swim this summer and although she doesn't love the water, she was very cute.
Thank you for everything....we just absolutely LOVE our Shea to death!!!!
Shea learns how to swim even though she didn't care too much for it and up above, she is as wet as a wet noodle! I think, however, it is safe to say that with more practice, Shea would learn to love the water and actually enjoy it because it is in her genes .......................
Shea with her very happy mommy and daddy.......what a really great family!!! Thank you for the update and the wonderful pictures and we look forward in being able to watch Shea grow!
Lake Ridge Goldendoodles are a PEOPLE MAGNET!
MEET BAILEY.....
Bailey shares the same mommy, Trixie, with Shae....however, they were born many months apart and have different fathers...but they really resemble each other quite a bit, still.
Baileys' family sent us a really nice update and some wonderful pictures...as below.....Bailey lives in Mass; He is apricot in color and he still has a ways to go in growing......
From the looks of his huge yard....he has plenty of room to romp, stomp and grow!
Thank YOU for sending us an update and keep the wonderful pictures coming! Hugs to all!
"HI DEE!
Just a note to let you know how much Bailey means to us. Bailey is from Trixies' litter.
He has been perfect from the start! He is everything you said your doodles are. People stop us everywhere we go just to pet him (and he loves it!) ...he is truly a velcro dog. He loves everyone and they love him. His temperament is fantastic!
He is also truly a plug and play dog. He plays when we do and he comes in andjust plops down when we do. People love to touch him because his coat is so soft and fluffy. Bailey has learned so quickly!
He knows so many tricks and behaves so well for such a little puppy. I'm sending a few pics to let you see how much he's grown and how LOVED he is!!! Thanks again,
Nancy and Jim Zimmerman
This is Bailey after he first arrived from the airport....
he was a little "tuckered" out!
This was his first BIG day at the Zimmerman home on 6/14/04.
Bailey is 10 weeks old in this photo and this is just ONE of his favorite toys to play with.
Bailey loves cooling off in his "kiddie" pool as well has having his favorite toy nearby....just in case he needs to shovel his way out or maybe fish for more toys!
Bailey is 11 weeks old in this photo and "eyeballing" Joe...the cockatiel. Looks like the instincts of RETRIEVER is coming out!
Bailey: "Say, you look mighty tasty but this catch looks too easy!"
Joe the cockateil: "Don't even think about it buster!
I'll rip your little snout right off and then tell mom and dad it was all your fault!"
Bailey at 12 weeks finds he loves his new home because not only is he WELL LOVED....there are plenty of places for him to "STRIKE A POSE"......
"Alright!!!!!!!!!!! Put down that camera and lets play some fetch!!!!!!!!!!"
" You KNOW I'm cute......SAY IT! SAY IT! SAY IT! "
" What can I say??? I'm just your every day....too cute for words....loving....loyal...playful......everybody loves me kind of guy" .....yep.....just your every day Goldendoodle.....if you come from Lake Ridge Kennel that is!
Lake Ridge Goldendoodles are simply the best!
MEET TEDDY.....
Teddy is Baileys' brother and is out of the same litter.....however, Teddy is now in our home away from home country....GERMANY!
This lovely lass met his new mommy and daddy at the Frankfurt, Germany airport and got to meet his new pal....a toy Poodle! Evi....Teddys' new dad...tells us he just loves his doodle and is sooo happy with him! Everyone just adores Teddy!
Teddy is doing what I always loved to do while in Germany.....TAKE A STROLL!
He is taking a shine to his new culture and we couldn't be happier for him!
While we lived in Frankenthal, Germany....we absolutely enjoyed all the years there tremendously! Teddy is living in Nagstadt.
Looks like Teddy has found a really nice garden to check out!
Teddy: "LOOK DAD! This is a really cool place to hang out!!!"
Teddy: "Wow!!! That was fun! Can I have wasser bitta???
"Danka".....hey.....I'm now learning german!
